Are you running a professional photo studio or are you a gifted amateur photographer who doesn't want to compromise on image quality? Then you need the right accessories!
With the right selection, the quality of your photos can be decisively improved. Small details come into their own and various effects are also possible. Which accessories you choose depends on the type of photography you prefer.
To ensure that your future photos are bursting with high quality, the right lighting in the studio is the be-all and end-all. Especially when it comes to product photography or video shoots, light can be the decisive factor. Basically, a distinction is made between spotlights, area lights, continuous light, spotlights and daylight lamps.
Studio lights with LED technology offer particular advantages as they are characterised by a long burning time and low energy consumption. The so-called Fresnel luminaire is a special studio luminaire. It focuses the light beam with a Fresnel lens, which allows you to change the spot and the light intensity within certain limits.
For a perfect exposure of the photos, you can use not only flash light but also continuous light in the photo studio. Continuous light is cheaper than the camera standard and therefore especially suitable for beginners. Flash metering and flash sync speed are not required as upper limits for the shutter speed.
This type of lamp comes very close to natural daylight. If you want to shoot a picture with motion blur, it is easier in this case than with flash. However, the power is not optimal, especially in lower price ranges, and can only be regulated in stages. Since the energy consumption is relatively high, cheaper models get very hot very quickly.
When taking pictures indoors, the right exposure is always important. The conventional camera flash is usually not enough and therefore you should not do without an additional flash.
It does not always make sense to press the shutter release directly on the camera. Alternatively, there are various wireless radio triggers available. These are also available in sets with a transmitter and at least one receiver. The transmitter is attached to the camera, while the receiver is connected to the studio light. If you want to use several cameras at the same time, you can also resort to a multi-channel flash trigger.
So-called softboxes are often needed in the photo studio to reduce the intense and harsh flash light. These are mounted in front of the studio flash and attached with a special adapter. Softboxes have a special shape and a diffuser, which softens the light. Softboxes are increasingly used in portrait photography in particular.
Another important accessory in the photo studio is the reflective umbrella. This is attached to the flash and with its help the light from the flash unit can be influenced both in direction and colour. Reflex umbrellas are available in different sizes and umbrella colours.
There are, of course, many other products for the right studio equipment. For example, it is important to have a background system consisting of tripods to which you can attach a canvas or paper in different colours. This is especially important for portrait photography, but also for product photography. For the different lamps and lighting, you will also need sturdy lamp stands and also spare bulbs. And tripods are also needed for the camera itself.
