Ambitious outdoor photographers will probably quickly recognise the problem: The constant transport of expensive camera equipment can quickly be affected by bumps and knocks. Travelling photographers will be particularly aware of this. To protect your expensive equipment in the best possible way, there are several options. These include high-quality aluminium and hard-shell cases in which cameras, lenses and a wide range of accessories can be stowed safely and without moving. We give you an overview here.
The two main materials used in the manufacture of camera cases are aluminium on the one hand and polypropylene on the other. The latter is a very high-quality and shock-resistant plastic. Our range also includes trolleys and backpacks with a hard shell inside. Any kind of equipment can be stored inside. Be it a camera, a large or several small lenses or an entire quadrocopter. Any object fits perfectly and even with wild movements, everything stays in place inside to prevent damage. For particularly valuable contents, it is also advisable to use a safety lock. Just don't lose the key. The majority of our range consists of cases in various sizes from the B&W brand. They are made of polypropylene, are air- and waterproof and can withstand knocks and blows without any problems. They are available in plain black and in a rather eye-catching bright yellow. All cases promise protection against splash water, dirt, moisture and snow; most are even airtight. The same is guaranteed by Vanguard and PELI cases. You will find various cases from all these brands in our range.
Cases made of aluminium offer similar protection and have the advantage that the lock is already integrated. They also come with a matching shoulder strap so that you can carry your equipment on your body and keep your hands free for other things. Those who have a long flight ahead of them and check in at the airport will appreciate exactly that. At the same time, the straps sit comfortably so that the suitcase seems less of a burden. However, if you already have a suitable suitcase but it is not possible to stow your equipment in an orderly fashion, we also offer to purchase system frames, lid organisers and foam. This allows you to freely divide the storage space in your suitcase or backpack and adapt it to your needs. Furthermore, there are also partition sets that make any tinkering unnecessary. They are simply placed inside the suitcase and reveal several compartments that can be filled according to your mood.
In terms of price, the majority of suitcases are in the €80 to €100 range. What may seem steep at first glance should, however, be seen in perspective. If you use lenses with a five-digit price tag, you should decide for yourself whether you want to protect your expensive equipment. The extra cost of a high-quality protective case then only makes a small difference. And if something bad should happen, it is much more pleasant and above all not as price-intensive to replace the case instead of buying a new comparable lens.
