Steiner products offer hikers, hunters or friends of the water in particular the opportunity to take a close look at any possible object or terrain. Is that a deer or just a bush? Is there a storm coming towards me and my boat? Find out and grab your binoculars. No matter if it's dawn or dusk!
The Steiner company, based in Bayreuth, is a German manufacturer of quality binoculars with a wide range of uses. Above all, the binoculars are used for military purposes, but also in the maritime sector as well as hunting. The company was founded in 1947 by Karl Steiner and specialises in long-distance viewing devices; the product range includes monoculars and binoculars as well as rifle scopes. Steiner has always used a specially developed thermoplastic called Makrolon for its binoculars. This polycarbonate is particularly shockproof and resistant without immediately becoming noticeably heavy, as would be the case with inflexible metal. The lenses of the binoculars are purged with nitrogen - Steiner was the first company to use this process at the time. Higher-end binoculars are sealed completely airtight after being purged with nitrogen to guarantee condensation-free operation. This means that your binoculars will never fog up, even in harsher natural environments.
If you are interested in a Steiner-branded binocular, you are buying a product from a company that sells ten per cent of its binocular sales to military customers around the world, such as the German Bundeswehr, the US military or the French Navy. In addition, some of Steiner's products have extremely useful functions, such as compasses or laser rangefinders. The latter makes it possible to measure the exact distance to the object or terrain being surveyed when looking through the glass - extremely useful for hunters and hikers. In some cases, distance measurements of up to 1,700 metres are possible. Estimating distances with such a device is a thing of the past. The integrated compass also makes it possible to find out in which compass direction you are looking, hiking or sailing. Our range of Steiner binoculars only includes binocular field glasses. This is also clear from the lens ratios: our range includes binoculars with magnifications from seven times to ten and a half times. Lens diameters range from 30mm to 50mm. This results in numbers such as 7x30 or 10x42. By the way, each pair of binoculars comes with a carrying case, protective caps for the lenses and a strap to attach them to your belt. The price range runs from entry-level devices for around 200 euros to professional glasses for around 2000 euros.
