The 399 phase autofocus points cover about 68 percent of the sensor. In addition, there are 425 contrast autofocus points. Even the eye autofocus is now twice as effective as before. The 5-axis optical image stabilizer gives photographers 5.5 more stops of latitude. Videographers will be pleased with 4K videos with full pixel readout and no pixel binning.

Professionals will appreciate the two SD card slots, longer battery life, and superspeed USB port (USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type C). The camera itself is small and compact.

Two dual linear motors provide fast, precise autofocus with excellent tracking performance. The autofocus and tracking in this compact and lightweight Sony G lens are very quiet. Internal focusing ensures a consistent angle of view during focusing (focus breathing is minimized). An excellent video lens, the SEL50F25G offers smooth, fast and continuous autofocus performance for movie shooting.
