Photo albums are almost as diverse as photography itself. There is a suitable album for every type of person: some like it rather simple and just put their photos sorted into an album for protection, others create a new one for every event. Whether a travel album, a baby album or a wedding album - there are no limits to creativity.
The first question when buying is therefore: What do you want the album for? Do you just want to keep the photos or do you want something more "special"? In both cases, it is important that the album is made of high-quality materials to ensure maximum protection for your photos. After all, it would be too bad if your precious memories were damaged.
There are several options here: For example, you could opt for a so-called insert album. In this case, the photos are simply sorted into the predefined compartments. Or you could opt for a simpler photo album with blank paper pages, in which the photos are inserted either with special photo corners or with glue.
When choosing an album, the format and size also play an important role. There are photo albums in all kinds of formats: If you want to carry your favourite photos with you at all times in a bag or backpack, a small-format photo album is the right thing for you. Such mini photo albums are made of plastic and are relatively flexible. This way, you don't have to worry about your photos getting damaged. If you prefer to store your most beautiful photos and memories at home on a shelf, a book-sized album makes more sense. When it comes to the number of pages, there is almost nothing to be desired: photo albums start at 15-20 pages and range up to 200 pages or even more.
Do you prefer it rather plain or still flashy? For particularly creative people who like to decorate - or people who really just like it plain - a photo album with white pages is the ideal canvas to let off steam. For more practical people, there are also pre-decorated albums. Or something for lateral thinkers: photo albums with black pages. There's nothing that doesn't exist!
For extra protection, some photo albums come with parchment-like protective pages. This special material is called parchment and serves the purpose of protecting the photos from yellowing. To further protect your photos, make sure that the pages of your album are also thick enough. If you use glue, it can easily happen that the glue seeps through the individual pages and the pages ripple or even stick together due to the moisture.
Our photo albums differ not only thematically or colour-wise, but also according to the materials used, via art print du decorations to elaborate gold embossing. There are no limits to creativity when it comes to decorating your personal albums. In addition, some photo albums contain multi-page text credits that you can add text to, similar to a diary, for example congratulations or letters. In the case of a baby album for the birth of the little offspring, you can add small details to your album: the baby's height and weight or the first favourite cuddly toy.
With the help of photos, the most beautiful moments with your loved ones can be captured. This may sound very nostalgic at first, but your favourite photos are better stored in albums designed for this purpose than in digital photo albums on your laptop or smartphone. It's even more fun to browse through. And after all, these photos should remain undamaged: preserved for eternity, so to speak.
Photo albums are more than just decorated books with colourful pages and clever sayings: they are memory carriers and are full of life that can be experienced anew at any time.
