Many photographers decide on a camera system and then remain loyal to this system (usually synonymous with the camera brand) for the rest of their lives. This is especially true when you are talking about buying a camera with an interchangeable lens, because the lenses you need have to fit on the camera. So when you buy the camera, you also determine which lenses you can buy. Cameras with interchangeable lenses are DSLM (mirrorless system cameras) and SLR (single lens reflex) cameras. In addition, you get used to the settings and operation of a system and do not necessarily want to learn to deal with a new system.
It is therefore worthwhile (especially with DSLM & SLR cameras) to think about the system/brand of the camera when buying a camera.
