Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark III body

The world's best image stabilization with compensation of up to 7.5 EV steps*, the new TruePic IX image processor, a highly precise and fast autofocus system and various unique shooting functions in combination with the high-quality M. Zuiko lens range enable

professional results everywhere

.

World's best image stabilization and new image processor
By synchronizing the image stabilizer integrated in Sync-IS lenses** with the 5-axis image stabilizer of the body, the E-M1 Mark III achieves the world's best image stabilization with compensation of up to 7.5 EV steps (5-axis Sync-IS). This makes it possible to take pictures in dark surroundings or even super telephoto shots without the use of a tripod. Without Sync-IS, the image stabilizer integrated into the housing compensates for up to 7.0 EV steps***, regardless of the Micro Four Thirds lens used.

All-round weatherproof
The robust, magnesium-alloy housing of the OM-D E-M1 Mark III is dust- and splash-proof as well as frost-proof, making it perfect for use in particularly harsh environments.

Handheld High-Res Shot
The new TruePic IX image processor in combination with the 20.4 megapixel Live MOS sensor, the large selection of high-performance M.Zuiko lenses and the 5-axis image stabilization ensure maximum image quality right to the edge of the frame. Users who require a higher resolution can use the 50 MP handheld High-Res Shot function for shots with approx. 50 megapixels without the use of a tripod. With the Tripod High-Res Shot function, ultra-high-resolution RAW and JPEG images equivalent to an 80-megapixel image can be captured.

Fast, high-precision autofocus including Starry Sky AF and Advanced Face Priority / Eye Priority AF
The OM-D E-M1 Mark III is equipped with the proven phase-detection AF system with 121 cross-type sensors that supports various AF point settings (single and group). In combination with an advanced AF algorithm, fast-moving objects can be focused continuously and with high precision. In contrast to DSLR cameras, AF precision is not compromised when using a fast lens. This allows the full potential of lenses with a maximum aperture of F1.2 to be exploited. With AF/AE tracking activated, 18 images per second are possible while maintaining the full resolution of 20.4 megapixels. The subject can be checked in the viewfinder during continuous shooting to ensure precise tracking.

New Starry Sky AF for astrophotography
Newly developed for the OM-D E-M1 Mark III, Starry Sky AF is set to revolutionize the world of astrophotography. In the past, photographers have traditionally had to rely on manual focusing. A newly developed algorithm ensures that even the smallest stars in the night sky can be precisely focused. One of the two modes of Starry Sky AF is Speed Priority mode (default setting), which prioritizes focusing speed and complete AF operation in a short time. Thanks to the powerful image stabilization, hand-held astro shots are possible with this function when using a wide-angle lens. The second mode, Accuracy Priority, uses a finely tuned focus scan and is effective for shooting specific stars with telephoto lenses.

Multi-selector joystick for quickly moving AF areas
With the multi-selector joystick (introduced with the E-M1X), AF areas can be quickly moved with the thumb when looking through the viewfinder. This makes it possible to precisely focus on subjects that do not move evenly, such as animals, during continuous shooting. There is also the AF Target Loop, which either stops the AF point at the edge of the screen or moves it to the opposite edge of the screen.

Advanced Face Priority / Eye Priority AF
Face Priority / Eye Priority AF for the automatic recognition of people's eyes and faces has been further revised. The new TruePic IX image processor has a higher processing capacity and improved AF algorithms. Smaller faces and eyes are better recognized in situations where face detection was difficult in the past (such as focusing on faces that can be seen in profile). In addition, it is now possible to select faces either using the buttons or by touching the touchscreen when taking photos or videos. Face or eye recognition can be switched on or off with a single touch of a button. Combined with the versatile video functions, this feature makes the E-M1 Mark III a great tool for vloggers.

Advanced dust reduction and long-life shutter
With the advanced SSWF (Super Sonic Wave Filter) from Olympus (which vibrates the image sensor with an acceleration of several thousand G**** 30.000 times per second to powerfully shake off dust and dirt) and a new sensor coating introduced with the OM-D E-M1X, dirt has no chance of sticking to the sensor. Unwanted stains on images are thus reduced to a tenth compared to conventional models. The durable shutter unit of the E-M1 Mark III has easily passed 400,000 function tests*****.

High-speed USB charging on the go - even while shooting
The BLH-1 lithium-ion battery can be fully charged in the camera in just two hours via USB******. The E-M1 Mark III is compatible with the USB PD (USB Power Delivery) standard, allowing the camera to be powered by an external power supply - ideal for long shoots, night photography or shooting in cold environments.

Versatile shooting functions:Pro Capture, Live ND filter, B-mode and 4K handheld video
Pro Capture allows you to capture scenes where perfect timing is difficult to estimate, such as flying birds. Pro Capture starts recording the moment the shutter button is pressed halfway. The buffer memory can be set to capture up to 35 images in RAW format / full resolution.

Live ND function for the effects of slow shutter speeds
The Live ND function, which was introduced with the OM-D E-M1X, is also included in the new E-M1 Mark III. It enables the effects of slow shutter speeds without the use of external ND filters. The user selects an effect level between ND2 (corresponding to one exposure time step) and ND32 (5 steps). The effects can be viewed in the viewfinder before shooting

B mode now available on the shooting mode dial
As B mode has been added to the shooting mode dial, Live Composite, Live Bulb and Live Time are now more easily accessible and configurable. Live Composite overlays multiple images taken at the same shutter speed and composites only the areas that are brighter to capture light trails. In this way, the frequent phenomenon of overly bright images in long exposures can be avoided. Users can check the progress of the light trails in real time in Live View.

Video - 4K/C4K handheld shooting
The E-M1 Mark III has an IS mode specially developed for video recording. The electronic stabilization in combination with the 5-axis stabilization in the body works extremely efficiently, which should please videographers in particular. High-quality handheld video content without the use of a tripod or other stabilization device is therefore guaranteed. Even when shooting high-resolution video formats such as 4K or Cinema 4K (C4K), which are prone to camera shake
