Whoever films professionally or simply ambitiously in the hobby sector knows that a good video camera alone is not always enough to achieve really good results. From simple microphone headsets to headphones, there are a number of things that make video recording easier and optimise the results. Especially for work on a film set or in journalistic fields, there is a wide range of equipment that ensures a smooth process in the professional field and makes the hearts of amateur directors beat faster.
A high-quality sound is often underestimated in video recordings. Yet we know it from the private sphere: poor audio quality strains the nerves and can quickly lead to a video being switched off. Good headphones make it possible to perceive disturbing background noises that the camera does not filter optimally already during the recording and thus make a quick reaction and adjustment possible. Ideally, this saves an unnecessarily time-consuming post-processing of the video material. Headphones are available in a wide variety of designs and price segments. Wireless headphones are particularly suitable if you are moving around a lot while recording. New technologies such as bone conduction technology enable a special perceptual experience. The headphones receive the signals that are important during recording and still allow unrestricted hearing and perception of the surrounding sounds, as the ears are not directly covered. Some headphones also have a function for receiving telephone calls. Especially on larger sets, this can make communication within the team much easier.
In addition, it can also be helpful to record the audio sequences separately from the video. High-quality microphones should be used for this. For the recording of individual interviews and thus, for example, when shooting a report with expert opinions, the use of lavalier microphones can be worthwhile. These microphones are connected directly to the camera or recording device. They only record the sound in their direct environment and thus automatically record less background noise. The wireless version also offers a lot of freedom of movement and avoids unnecessary cable tangle.
Whoever has now done everything right while shooting, naturally does not want to diminish his great result by an unprofessional reproduction. To show videos in high resolution, you need a good projector. A projector should at least have a zoom function and a good colour display. A light weight and an integrated WiFi function that eliminates the need for cables can also make using the projector even more convenient. Light, compact beamers can be used in any conference or seminar room without any problems.
An interesting gadget that can be used primarily in the leisure sector, however, are the so-called pocket beamers. Pocket beamers are a small version of the professional beamers just described and are wonderfully easy to transport whenever necessary. Integrated WiFi functions allow the beamer to be used without cables and the built-in web browser allows good entertainment via Netflix and co. almost like in the cinema. The only drawback is that the battery power of the small beamers is often not very high. On average, it lasts up to two hours, after which the device should be quickly connected to the charger. For private use, however, the pocket beamer is a great invention and is especially fun for hobby film makers who like to present their results to friends and family.
