The AC adapter for Lumix cameras such as the S5, S5II, S5IIX, G9II, GH6 and GH5M2 allows the cameras to be powered directly from the mains instead of relying on batteries. This is particularly useful for longer shoots or when a constant power source is required

, but the mains adapter alone is not sufficient to ensure continuous operation. The DMW-DCC18 coupler is also required for this. This coupler is inserted into the battery slot of the camera and ensures that the camera is continuously supplied with power while the mains adapter is connected.
