Peak Design Slide Midnight Blue - Camera strap for medium and large DSLR cameras
Enormously versatile camera strap - can be used as a neck strap, as a shoulder strap or as a sling
strapThe Slide is the widest strap from Peak Design. It is the flagship of the Peak Design harness system. Its key feature is tremendous versatility. You can wear the Slide Lite as a neck harness, as a shoulder harness or as a sling harness. Other features include a high level of comfort, quick camera access, and fold-out metal brackets for one-handed length adjustment. Added to this is a comfortable and at the same time very secure attachment system. All these features make the Slide a perfect harness in every respect for SLR cameras of all sizes and for mirrorless medium format cameras.
Flatter, more flexible, flatter buckles, grippy rubber coating, no unintentional adjustment
The comprehensive facelift comes up with many detail improvements. One major optimization concerns the rubber coating, which is located on one of the two sides of the strap. The new rubber coating has a much better grip than the old Slide harnesses. In the area of the bar buckle, the Slide Lite is flatter than its predecessor. This comes in part from flatter buckles and flatter folding stirrups. In addition, one of the strap ends is incorporated directly into the bar buckle. The whole thing not only makes the harness flatter, it has another very significant benefit: The belt no longer adjusts itself so easily, since there is now only it only one belt layer that runs directly over the plastic buckle. This provides more friction and gives more grip. In the predecessor, two smooth nylon webbing straps ran over each other, which did not provide sufficient friction. The strap still has a thin inner pad that somewhat cushions the weight of the camera attached to the strap. However, the new pad is more pliable than its predecessor, which makes the strap more flexible. At the same time, the padding does not take on any permanent curvature even after prolonged use.
Perfectly thought-out, secure attachment system with push-in buckles and anchor loops
A special feature is the clever attachment system that the Slide shares with all other Peak Design harnesses
.
The system consists of the buckles on the actual harness and the sturdy anchor loops for attaching to your camera. The anchor loops and the buckles are extremely securely connected, but they can still be detached from each other with one hand. Thanks to this system, you can quickly and easily attach the strap to your camera. You have countless possibilities to attach the anchor loops to your camera: For example, you can attach the loops to the strap eyelets, or you can attach them to the tripod thread of the camera using the included camera plate.
Amixture of both is possible as well.
Shallower buckles and anchor loops with angled discs for easier engagement
The Slide has shallower buckles than its predecessor. The anchor loops have also been optimized. They have slightly beveled discs, which makes them easier to snap into place. The push-in fasteners and anchor loops are backward compatible with their older counterparts
