Sigma Mount Converter MC-21 Canon
With the SIGMA Mount Converter MC-21, owners of SIGMA interchangeable lenses with EF mount (for Canon) can use their lenses on L-mount camera bodies (with the exception of Leica L-mount cameras). This converter offers more freedom of choice for L-mount cameras, which improves the expandability of the L-mount system.
By using the MC-21 on the compatible SIGMA interchangeable lenses with EF mount (for Canon), they can be used as L-mount system lenses to promote the effective use of existing valuable lenses.
29 interchangeable lenses are available for use with L-mount cameras
The MC-21 increases the number of interchangeable lenses manufactured by SIGMA that can be used with the L-mount system by 29 lenses. Thanks to compatibility with the Auto Crop function, the DC lenses designed for the APS-C format can also be used on a camera body with a 35mm full-frame sensor.
The LED indicator and the color of the LED indicator immediately show whether the mounted lens is compatible or not. The LED also indicates whether a lens firmware update is available.
Pre-implemented lens data
Autofocus and aperture control have been optimized based on the use of the lens data pre-implemented in the MC-21 by the special control program. With regard to lenses that will be released in the future, the data for the operation of these lenses on the MC-21 is stored in the lens. This means that no firmware update will be required for the use of future lenses on the MC-21. In addition, the MC-21 also supports camera correction functions such as vignetting, lateral chromatic aberration and distortion.
Equipped with a tripod base
Equipped with a base for attaching to a tripod. Lenses that are not equipped with a tripod clamp can be used by attaching the tripod to the MC-21.
The special surface inside the tube prevents reflections
To counteract any impairment of the lens performance and to prevent reflections inside, the inner surface is equipped with a special surface.
Integration of Exif data
Information such as lens type, focal length, aperture value and other characteristics are integrated into the Exif data of the image files.
Note on the use of the SIGMA Mount Converter MC-21 when used in combination with the Panasonic LUMIX S1 and Panasonic LUMIX S1R.

Compatibility with other cameras
- When the MC-21 was announced on February 26, 2019, Sigma stated that the MC-21 was also compatible with Leica Camera AG L-mount cameras (SL, CL and TL2). However, the specifications have changed, so the MC-21 is unfortunately not compatible with the existing Leica L-mount cameras. Sigma apologizes for this inconvenience.
