The industry standard for professional custom white balance, the ColorChecker White Balance target is a scientifically manufactured, absolutely neutral reference that eliminates color drift and provides an accurate, consistent, color-neutral surface in all lighting conditions. As lighting conditions change, so does the way your camera reproduces color, which can cause color shifts in your photo or video footage. Most white balance targets are not truly neutral and can cause color shifts under different lighting conditions. However, this is not the case with the ColorChecker White Balance target, which allows for near lifelike photo or video capture.

The ColorChecker While Balance target allows you to precisely match the color sensitivity of your digital camera to the ambient light, thus changing the "perception" of the camera. The perceived white changes depending on the ambient light, i.e. is perceived cooler outside, warmer inside, and more green under fluorescent lighting. This can be problematic even in a controlled studio environment.
