The "Field Flattener" lens in the eyepiece, provides a distortion-free view over the entire field of view of 80 degrees. The Kowa XD lens contains a high proportion of fluorite crystal, which reduces chromatic aberration (color fringing) to a minimum. The combination of the "Field Flattener" and XD lenses, results in a uniformly ultra-sharp image.

The Kowa TE-80XW eyepiece is 100% waterproof. Due to the high quality Kowa KR coating of the insight lens, perfect protection against dirt, moisture and dust is achieved.
