Vaonis Vespera CLS Filter
With the Vespera light pollution filter or CLS filter (City Light Suppression), you can improve the quality of your photos when observing in the city or suburbs. It attenuates the effects of light pollution and thus increases the contrast between the photographed celestial object and the background sky
.Indispensable for observing from an environment with heavy light pollution (urban and suburban environments, residential lighting, etc.
).)
Improves the quality of nebula photography
The broadband filter blocks wavelengths of Na (sodium) and Hg (mercury) emitted mainly from urban night lighting or unwanted natural light (atmospheric oxygen radiation, etc.), while blocking wavelengths of Hg (mercury
) emitted from the sky.The light pollution filter is particularly useful for enhancing the brightness of deep-sky objects
:
Nebulae, star clusters, galaxies, etc.
Specially designed for the Vespera objective, it fits easily and discreetly into the optical arm
.
The objective ring that holds the CLS filter is equipped with an electronic card that allows Vespera to recognize it. The filter is supplied in a transparent storage box.
Instructions for use
Remove the standard Vespera lens ring and insert the light pollution filter until you hear a click. To check that the light pollution filter is correctly positioned, connect Vespera to your mobile device and start the Singularity app. The word "CLS" will appear in the Space Center and then on the instrument screen
- The filter is of limited use when observing the moon, stars and planets, which are very bright objects .
- It is designed for use in urban or suburban areas or in ambient light
- not need to be used in an environment with ideal viewing conditions .
- As the filter allows less light through the sensor, the stacking speed may be slightly affected .
- The light pollution filter is ineffective against LED lighting
Maintenance tips
- Do not expose the filter to direct sunlight .
- Store the filter in its storage box after each use to avoid dust accumulation
- If you notice streaks or dust, clean the filter carefully with an optical cloth, microfiber cloth, feather duster or air blower.
- Do not attempt to open the lens ring that contains the filter
