The "SD 9x42 WP" from Pentax comes with a large objective lens diameter of 42 mm and features the high-quality coated lenses of the A series. The "Protective Lens Coating" is a nanotechnology-based coating that protects the lens from oil, dust, dirt and water, thereby increasing viewing comfort. This allows for ideal viewing even under the harshest conditions. The prisms in the binoculars are made of super-clean BaK4 glass, which allows for a high refractive index.

Light waves shift due to multiple reflection in roof prisms. Thanks to a phase correction coating, the light ray frequency is corrected to its natural value. According to JIS class 6, the binoculars are waterproof and can therefore withstand accidental immersion in water up to 1 m deep without damage.

The penetration of the smallest suspended particles and dust as well as condensation in the binoculars is prevented by the nitrogen filling. Thanks to internal focusing, there is additional protection against moisture and dirt. For eyeglass wearers, the long eye point is ideal, as it allows the complete field of view to be captured.
