Whether it's an air show or a safari, you'll always be up close and personal with this superzoom, and you'll succeed in taking breathtaking photos and 4K movies. In the "Birdwatching" program, you can select three different AF points to keep fast-moving subjects in focus. The "Moon" scene program optimizes the camera settings for clear astronomical images. This allows you to successfully take pictures of all phases of the moon.

Close up and far away
Thanks to a focal length range of 24 to 2000 mm, you'll always be in the thick of things with this superzoom COLPIX. Capture the intensity of a thunderstorm over the sea at wide angle. Zoomen get up close and personal to capture distant wildlife in sharp images. The 166x Dynamic Fine Zoom digitally extends the upper Zoom limit to an incredible 4000mm.

The back-illuminated CMOS sensor and NIKKOR lens with a f/2.8 aperture let you capture unique images. Your window on the world
The large 1cm diagonal electronic OLED viewfinder with 2.36 million pixels provides a clear view. The eye sensor detects when the camera approaches your face and automatically switches from monitor use to the electronic viewfinder.

The bright 3.2-inch, 921,000-dot LCD monitor can be tilted and rotated in almost any direction. Choose the appropriate framing for unique shots. Even if you hold the camera high above your head or just above the ground, you can easily select the ideal crop.

RAW format images
Edit files at high resolution. The COOLPIX P950 supports RAW (NRW) format image capture. This allows you to save uncompressed image files and export them to an image processing program of your choice.

Stunning 4K superzoom movies.
Stereo movie recording in 4K/UHD 30p or Full HD video (1080p) at frame rates up to 60p succeeds easier than ever. The uncompressed HDMI output of the video signal allows you to use an external monitor while filming. The built-in microphone jack lets you connect an external microphone to benefit from better sound. Manual movie mode lets you adjust key exposure settings while filming to respond to changing lighting conditions.

Star trails and dawn
The built-in time-lapse function is perfect for visually experiencing the panorama of the sky, star trails, or opening plants in a forest clearing. You can record magical time-lapse movies of about 10 seconds in length and with playback frame rates of 25 or 30 fps. Scene modes automatically set the shooting interval that works best for your subject.

Always blur-free
Shake-free photos and movie clips, even when shooting extreme telephoto handheld or in low light. Optical Image Stabilizer (VR) with Nikons Dual Detect technology enables shooting with exposure times up to five light levels longer.³ Active VR mode provides a more stable viewfinder and monitor image - ideal when you're on the move.

Keep your eye on the target
The side Zoom switch lets you extend the lens with your thumb. A simple press of the Snap Back Zoom button (Quick Zoom Reset) instantly pulls the lens back to a wider angle of view - ideal for retrieving subjects that have moved out of the field of view.
