The Sony RX10 III nothing is too fast or too far when it comes to the subject. Because with its 25x super-telephoto lens with a focal length range of 24-600 millimeters and an extremely quiet shutter, it is the ideal tool for demanding photographers and videographers who want to do without interchangeable lenses but not without quality.

First-class quality is ensured by the "stacked sensor" (type 1.0) with 20.1 megapixels, the fast Zoom lens and the BIONZ X processor. When it comes to video, creatives have maximum leeway. From 4K to slow motion with up to 1,000 frames per second, everything is possible. The extremely precise and fast autofocus rounds out the highlights of Sony's little powerhouse. It focuses on any subject in just 0.09 seconds (up to 100 Mbps). All functions are packaged in a first-class body that not only impresses with its purposeful design, but also looks chic.

The highlight of the RX10 III is the newly developed ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T* lens. With a wide focal length of 24-600 millimeters (25x Zoom), the RX10 III is simply suitable for all shooting: from wide-angle to telephoto. Thanks to the fast lens (F2.4-4.0), image quality remains consistently high with appealing bokeh.

The newly developed optics include eight ED glass elements, including a Super ED glass element and two ED aspherical lenses. Together, they reduce chromatic aberration to a minimum and provide high-contrast, ultra-sharp image quality across the entire Zoom range. The newly developed optical design incorporates a sophisticated Advanced Aspherical (AA) lens and delivers outstanding image performance even though the lens unit itself has been kept small. In addition, the new lens is capable of capturing sharp images even in the tele-macro range - thanks to the close focus limit of 72 centimeters at a focal length of 600 millimeters (0.49x maximum magnification).

The ZEISS T* coating minimizes light reflections and ghosting effects that appear distractingly in the photo under unfavorable lighting conditions. Color reproduction remains natural and clear.

Nine aperture blades form an almost uniform circle when the aperture is open, creating a pleasant bokeh. The sophisticated "Optical SteadyShot" image stabilizer is further improved for the new RX10 III lens and provides effective shake protection of up to 4.5 stops - a must, especially when shooting at extreme telephoto.

High speed, fast response

The RX10 III features a "Stacked CMOS Sensor" (Type 1.0) with DRAM chip. Thanks to its intelligent design, it can capture more light than an ordinary sensor. In combination with the BIONZ X image processor, the RX10 III therefore achieves low image noise even in higher ISO ranges up to ISO 12,800. The DRAM chip on the back of the sensor allows large amounts of data to be buffered and processed without delay. Thanks to this power, Super Slow Motion shooting at up to 1,000 frames per second is possible.

With fast shutter speeds of 1/32000 seconds, the electronic shutter is comparable to mechanical shutters without unwanted image distortion. In addition, it can release completely silently if desired, so no one is unnecessarily disturbed at concerts, weddings or in the wild. Continuous shooting at up to 14 frames per second captures every moment multiple times. Plus, the RX10 III offers precise autofocus performance at up to 5 frames per second.

High-quality 4K** movie recording**

The RX10 III records 4K quality video at a high bit rate in the highly efficient XAVC S format with full pixel readout and no pixel binning.

This means that approximately 1.7 times more information is captured than is required for 4K video output. This helps to effectively minimize moiré and staircase effects. With the newly developed lens, the camera can record 4K videos in high quality. In addition, the high-speed front-end LSI helps the BIONZ X high-speed processor significantly reduce the rolling shutter phenomenon that can distort the appearance of fast-moving subjects in 4K video.

To enable compatibility with a professional video workflow, the RX10 III supports numerous video features of professional video cameras, such as: Picture Profile, S-Gamut/S-Log2, Gamma Display Assist, optimized Zebra function, HDMI clean output, TC/UB, shot control, double shot and marker function.

High-speed autofocus

The RX10 III features a fast intelligent AF system that has already proven itself in the RX10 II and RX100 IV. Equipped with a spatial object detection algorithm that is extensively optimized for the RX10 III, it is hard to beat. This allows the camera to anticipate the metering field by detecting the subject even before the shutter button is pressed halfway. Once the shutter button is pressed halfway, the camera immediately focuses on the subject and captures it in just 0.09 seconds.
