Superior performance with a compact 1" image sensor#
The RX100 V features the 1.0-inch image sensor of the RX100 series and boasts a fast autofocus response time of just 0.05 seconds, 315 AF points for focal plane phase detection, a recording speed of up to 24 frames per second with AF/AE tracking in continuous shooting mode, and 4K movies in excellent quality.
Action scenes in focus thanks to 315 AF point coverage
With 315 focus points for AF phase detection, dense coverage of 65% of the image area is achieved, ensuring consistently high AF and tracking performance even with small, fast-moving subjects.
Auto focus in just 0.05 seconds#
The fast hybrid AF system, which combines fast autofocus with phase detection with extremely precise AF contrast detection, enables the camera to focus and shoot moving subjects in just 0.05 seconds.
Continuous shooting at up to 24 frames per second
You can shoot a total of up to 233 consecutive shots at 24 frames per second at 20.1 megapixels with full AF/AE tracking. The very short frame interruptions allow effortless tracking of subjects.
Exmor RS® CMOS Sensor, BIONZ X™ and front-end LSI
#
By efficiently driving the 20.1-megapixel (effective) resolution EXMOR RS CMOS image sensor, which features AF phase detection at the focal plane, of the advanced BIONZ X high-speed processor and the improved front-end LSI chip will provide a short AF response time of 0.05 seconds, high-speed continuous shooting with AF/AE tracking and up to approximately 24 frames per second, higher perceived resolution, lower image noise and more accurate face and eye recognition.
Sharper images through fast hybrid AF
The fast hybrid AF and wide area AF cover provide high focusing speeds and extremely precise tracking, resulting in razor-sharp images even when shooting 4K movies.
4K high quality shots
The RX100 V enables 4K film shooting with full pixel readout. Since each 4K frame is obtained by downsampling approximately 1.7 times the required amount of image data, even the smallest details are accurately reproduced
Advanced Super Slow Motion function at up to 960 frames per second
The RX100 V can shoot movies in Super Slow Motion (slow motion) at up to 960 frames per second, 40 times the normal frame rate. The camera boasts twice the recording time of its predecessors.
