Welcome to the creative world of the EOS RP with full-frame sensor
New member in the full-frame world of Canon
The EOS RP with an excellent price-performance ratio and sets a new course in the full-frame world of Canon. The camera features the innovative RF bayonet with high-speed 12-pin communication, a short flange focal length and a large bayonet diameter of 54 mm. Designed from the ground up, the RF bayonet enables the use of lenses with a new dimension of optical performance, responsiveness and functionality. Photographers and filmmakers can also take full advantage of the performance of existing EF and EF-S lenses thanks to the three EF-EOS R mount adapters. At the same time, two of the EF-EOS R adapters offer additional functionality; namely, the ability to use insert filters or a lens control ring.
More creativity through silent shutter release, speed and quality
The EOS RP's 26.2-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor, combined with the latest Canon DIGIC 8 processor opens up new creative possibilities with an optimal balance of detail, premium depth-of-field control and incredible low-light performance. The maximum ISO sensitivity of 40,000 - expandable up to ISO 102,400 - is optimal for low-light shooting. Together with the powerful Dual Pixel CMOS AF system, this enables autofocus down to -5 EViii, even in dark environments.
Optimal image quality straight from the camera
Digital Lens Optimizer (DLO) is automatically applied in-camera for all RF and for up to five registered EF lenses. For post-processing, the EOS RP offers the latest generation CR3 14-bit RAW format and a compact RAW option that saves approximately 40 percent of file size compared to standard RAW files. This increases the number of images that can be stored on a memory card while maintaining the flexibility of shooting with RAW. Images can also be processed in-camera for immediate editing. RAW images are processed using the internal RAW converter. Alternatively, they can also be edited using the Creative Wizard. This offers a range of filters and effects that make it easy to convert the desired result into a JPEG file. These can then, after appropriate configuration, be shared directly from the camera.
EOS Handling - without compromise
Designed for portability and practicality, the EOS RP is the lightest and most affordable full-frame digital camera Canon has ever released. The camera body weighs 485ivg and is ideal for travel when space and weight are at a premium. Designed for shooting in a wide range of situations, the camera features a rugged magnesium alloy body with high-precision external components and seals against dust and splashing water. The EOS RP features powerful Dual Sensing IS technology to combat camera shake when shooting handheld, as well as a silent shooting mode for discreet shooting. Continuous shooting at up to 5 frames per second or 4 frames per second with Servo AF, combined with a UHS-II card slot, enables spontaneous action shots. This allows for unlimited continuous shooting in JPEG. In addition, there is the typical, familiar EOS handling. As with the EOS R, the controls can be customized and assigned individually.
The EOS RP feels good in the hand, is comfortable to use and shows its high flexibility thanks to customizable controls, scene modes and graphical menu interface. The ergonomic EOS-style grip, high-resolution 7.5cm rotating and tilting touchscreen, and 0.39-inch type OLED electronic viewfinder also make it easy to use.
Matching the new EOS RP is also the new EG-E1 expansion grip. This allows battery and memory card changes even when attached. In addition, the EOS RP is compatible with the Canon Speedlite 470EX-AI flash with AI Bounce introduced in February 2018.
Details in focus
The EOS RP also takes an uncompromising approach to autofocus, with a Dual Pixel CMOS AF system that offers the world's fastest autofocus of 0.05 secondsvi. With up to 4,779 selectable AF positions over a large covered image area of up to 88 percent x 100 percent, autofocus can be precisely placed. The EOS RP's electronic viewfinder (EVF) scores with 2.36 million pixels and 100 percent field coverage - making great shots no problem even in difficult and low-light conditions. Touch and Drag AF allows the focus area to be determined while looking through the viewfinder with a simple touch of the touchscreen LCD. For impressive portraits, AF Eye Detection continuously focuses on the subject's eye, ensuring professional results and optimal sharpness every time with ease. Moving subjects are also no problem in stills or video - the EOS RP can continuously track the focus on the subject to respond to subject movement. For extended depth of field in macro shooting, focus bracketing enables stunning depth of field. With a single press of the shutter button, this mode captures continuous images with automatically set focus positions. In Digital Photo Professional software for the PC or Mac, the appropriate photos can be selected to create the final image with the desired depth of field. Spot AF enables precise focusing for macro shots. Other AF functions include Face Detection AF, Single Area AF, AF Point Expansion, and Zone AF.
Shoot, share and stay connected
With smart Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity options for shooting and sharing, the EOS RP allows users to control the camera from their compatible mobile device to capture images or videos remotely via Wi-Fi. Once downloaded to the mobile device, the Canon Connect app offers full control over camera settings, a live image display, and even the ability to remotely activate camera standby via Bluetooth. GPS coordinates are embedded in images when the EOS RP is connected to a compatible iOS or Android mobile device. On the go, the EOS RP can automatically sync images to a mobile device and transfer RAW data to the Canon DPP Express app
High-quality 4K video
The EOS RP offers just the freedom and capability for videographers who want a compact and easy-to-use camera. With its DIGIC 8 processor, the EOS RP can record video at up to 4K resolution at 25fps and Full HD at 60fps. With features like 4K Time Lapse, Interval Timer, Movie Servo AF, and HDR video, you can capture fast action and slow-motion sequences that impress with their extended dynamic range. Dual Pixel CMOS AFvii enables precise focusing and face detection, while 5-axis Movie Digital IS provides stabilization while filming to prevent camera shake when shooting freehand. Microphone and headphone jacks allow you to record and control audio in real time, while the rotating and tilting touchscreen lets you shoot from interesting angles. The video snapshot function combines 4-, 6- or 8-second clips. An easy-to-manage codec enables quick editing and reduces file size for storage.

Canon Bayonet Adapter EF-EOS R
The standard EF-EOS R lens adapter allows seamless use of EF-S and EF lenses with EOS R system cameras. So if you already have EF-S or EF lenses, you can easily invest in the EOS R system knowing that the lenses you already have can be used with their usual performance.
In the long run
The EF-EOS R adapter is built to meet professional standards, offering a metal bayonet on both sides. It's protected from dust and splashing water, so you can keep shooting even in adverse weather conditions.
Designed for performance
You can expect your lenses to perform just like they would with an EOS DSLR. The adapter guarantees the same great performance with the same top quality.
Get distant subjects up close
The maximum telephoto focal length of 300mm allows for full-frame imaging of distant subjects. This makes the lens an ideal complement to your standard kit lens and expands your photographic possibilities.
Powerful focusing
The Nano USM allows you to focus on your subject quickly, smoothly, and quietly. This makes the lens ideal for photographing fast-moving subjects, as well as for shooting video that isn't disturbed by motor noise and features natural-looking focus transitions.
Impressive image quality
The virtually circular 9-blade iris diaphragm helps in the selective use of attractive background blur (bokeh) to crop a subject. A special UD lens in the lens design helps reduce chromatic aberrations for superior image quality across the entire focal length range.
Always informed via the integrated lens display
An innovative display on top of the lens shows lens information at a glance, even in low ambient light. This is extremely helpful when shooting video in Live View mode, as it ensures there is no shake and also allows you to check the focusing distance and depth of field at different apertures.
Lightweight and compact
Weighing only about 710g and measuring 14.55cm when retracted, the EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS II USM is ideal when space is limited and when traveling.
