The DXO One's type 1-inch BSI CMOS sensor (13.2mm × 8.8mm) impresses with a resolution of 20.2 megapixels. Sensor sensitivity is selectable from ISO 100 to ISO 51,200 (Hi 2). The exposure time is in the range of 1/8000 s up to 15 seconds.
DXO promises noise-free images even at higher ISO levels, but this requires the use of SuperRaw. Here, four raw images are saved in quick succession, which are only processed to the final image when connected to a computer. JPEG and DNG are also available as image formats.
You can either use your connected iPhone / iPad or the exchangeable micro SD card as image storage. Videos recorded by the One in 1080p at 30 frames per second or 720p at 120 fps as MOV (H.264) also end up here.
You can also use the DXO One without an iPhone / iPad. The small OLED status display on the back of the camera is ideal for this. Here, the battery capacity and other camera parameters are displayed.
For the control of the camera DXO offers a free app, on hardware the One requires an iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5, iPad Air 2, iPad mini 3, iPad Air, iPad mini 2, iPad (4th generation), iOS 8 or later.
