For the new lens of the GR, the extremely narrow design had to be reconciled with exceptional imaging performance. And so the 18.3 mm F 2.8 (28 mm (equivalent to KB lens) with its construction of six elements in four groups, stands for perfect image quality.

Using high refractive index, low dispersion glass elements, it delivers the clearest and sharpest images in the history of the GR series, while minimizing distortion and chromatic aberration

Some 24.24 effective megapixels ensure high image quality. And by not using an anti-aliasing filter, it delivers high-resolution shots even with the smallest details.

Maximum sensitivity up to ISO 102400 at low noise levels

The noise reduction process results in high image quality, even at high ISO sensitivities. This, and a color depth of 14-bit for RAW (DNG) recordings, ensure the rich sound reproduction.
