For the new lens of the GR, the extremely narrow design had to be brought in line with an exceptional imaging performance. And so the 18.3 mm F 2.8 (28 mm (equivalent to KB lens) with its construction of six elements in four groups, stands for perfect image quality.

Using high refractive index, low dispersion glass elements, it delivers the clearest and sharpest images in the history of the GR series, while minimizing distortion and chromatic aberration.

The lens design was especially intricate to incorporate the original "Shake Reduction", which minimizes the effects of camera shake and thus on image quality to achieve perfect image results.

24.2 M APS-C image sensor

Some 24.24 effective megapixels ensure high image quality. And by not using an anti-aliasing filter, it delivers high-resolution images even with the smallest details.

Maximum sensitivity up to ISO 102400 with low noise levels

The noise reduction process results in high image quality, even at high ISO sensitivities. This, and a 14-bit color depth in RAW (DNG) shooting, ensure rich tonal reproduction.

The newly developed GR ENGINE 6

A newly developed imaging processor provides further improvements in high image quality performance, detailed imaging across the entire sensitivity range, with excellent color reproduction.

Wide-angle conversion lens GW-4. Shortens the focal length by a factor of 0.75, making the focal length 21 mm equivalent to 35 mm 35 mm. Can be used in combination with lens hood and camera adapter.
