Nikon AF-S Nikkor 24-70mm f2.8E ED VR.
Faster. More robust. With image stabilizer.
With its first-class image quality, the AF-S NIKKOR 24-70mm f2.8E ED VR meets professional demands in all respects.
Nikon now offers the professional 24-70 mm lens - one of the most widely used professional lenses in the entire NIKKOR range - with image stabilizer and an optical design optimized from the ground up. The image stabilizer effectively compensates for camera shake and enables sharp shots with exposure times that are up to four stops slower. Autofocus drive by the Nikon-exclusive Silent Wave motor works even faster than the previous model. The lens is ruggedly built and the fluorine coating on the front and rear lenses effectively repels water, dust and dirt.
Professional standard zoom: focal length range 24-70 mm from wide-angle to light telephoto for almost any type of subject.
Constant f/2.8 aperture: provides excellent low-light performance and consistent exposure throughout the Zoom range.
Image Stabilizer (VR): Compensates for camera shake, enabling sharp images with exposure times up to 4 stops longer.*.
* In "Normal" mode according to CIPA standard.
Outstanding imaging performance: This lens delivers exceptional brilliance and contrast throughout the field of view. The optical design effectively minimizes chromatic aberration and thus color fringing. Distortion is low throughout the Zoom range.
State-of-the-art optical design: For the first time, an optimized aspherical ED glass lens is used, in addition to two other lenses made of ED glass, three other aspheres and an HRI glass lens with an especially high refractive index.
Nano Crystal Coat: Ensures brilliant images by reducing ghosting and flare.
Electromagnetic iris: Enables high consistency of exposure, especially during high-speed continuous shooting.
Silent Wave Motor (SWM): Extremely fast, ultra-quiet autofocus with unrestricted access to manual focus.
Rugged and reliable: Rugged and sturdy construction designed for intensive and demanding professional use.
Fluorine coating: Actively repels moisture, dust and dirt without affecting image quality. Fluorine coating protects exterior lens surfaces and reduces the risk of scratching the surface when cleaning the glass.
Included: Lockable lens hood and lens case.
Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm f2.8E FL ED VR
How can perfection be achieved? With refined details that stand the test of practical use. The outstanding performance of this latest model in the proven lens lineup keeps you ahead of the curve.
Improved AF tracking and exposure control, plus SPORT VR mode, enable fantastic shooting. A brand new optical design ensures optimal image quality from edge to edge. Thanks to Nikon nanocrystal coating, ghosting and flare are effectively minimized. The integration of a fluorite glass lens in the front lens area saves weight while maintaining excellent optical properties and also results in improved balance.
Playing in the top league: 1:2.8 telephoto zoom lens
Sports, action, news, reportage: reach a new level with this FX-format lens. The focal length of 70 to 200 mm (equivalent to 105 to 300 mm when using a Nikon digital SLR camera with DX-format image sensor) covers the most commonly used telephoto range. The high speed of 1:2.8 offers great photographic latitude when using selective focus or in low light. The professional Zoom already delivers excellent performance at open aperture and the autofocus is extremely fast and reliable. The lower closest focusing distance is 1.1 m, and the maximum magnification has been increased from 1:9.1 to 1:4.8. Photographers working with Nikons high-resolution image sensors and SLR cameras with high frame rates are well prepared for any situation with this new telephoto zoom.
Sharp, blur-free, fast: improved image stabilizer (VR).
Keep up with the action without compromising sharpness. The Nikon image stabilizer compensates for camera shake and allows sharp shots with exposure times up to 4 stops longer than without VR. The image stabilizer, which reduces camera shake caused by camera movement, is activated as soon as the shutter button is pressed to the first point of pressure and offers various VR modes. The SPORT VR mode enables a smoother viewfinder image when shooting extremely fast movements or subjects that move unexpectedly. The image stabilizer allows for nearly the same frame rate and shutter lag values as when VR is disabled. The lens also detects whether a tripod is being used and automatically adjusts the VR modes Normal and SPORT.
Precision of the lens-camera combination: outstanding AF tracking and exposure control.
Designed specifically for use with Nikons fast, professional SLR cameras, the lens responds swiftly and precisely to changes in distance. Fast-moving subjects can be reliably tracked, even if they move unpredictably and at different speeds or approach the camera. And better AF tracking is not the only innovation. Even during fast continuous shooting, the electromagnetic iris mechanism enables extreme precision and consistency in exposure control of shots. And Nikons Silent Wave Motor (SWM) guarantees extremely fast and quiet autofocus with the ability to access manual focus at any time.
Outstanding integrity: optical precision right to the edge of the frame
This lens delivers exceptional brilliance and contrast throughout the image field. Compared to the previous model, image quality has improved from edge to edge and vigenetting has been reduced. The new optical design effectively minimizes chromatic aberration and thus color fringing. Distortion is low throughout the Zoom range. The lens has six ED glass lenses, one fluorite lens, and one HRI glass lens with an especially high refractive index. The nanocrystal coating ensures brilliant images by reducing ghosting and flare. Thanks to the use of fluorite glass, the lightweight design of the lens does not come at the expense of image quality.
Perfectly tuned: greater ease of use
When you have to give everything in practical use, these details can be indispensable. With the help of configurable buttons on the barrel, a feature adopted from professional NIKKOR telephoto lenses, optional focus lock or autofocus start can be easily accessed with the thumb. Together with the D5 or D500 cameras, even more options for assigning these buttons are available via Individual Functions. The Zoom and focus rings are reversed compared to the previous model for better balance and handling: The Zoomring is now located directly under your hand at the front of the tube. This allows you to hold the lens more steady when adjusting the Zoom. Thanks to the textured rubber surface of the Zoomring, you won't lose your grip and can zoom more easily while shooting intuitively.
Ready to go: lightweight, rugged, reliable
The lens is designed to meet the toughest demands of professional photography, and all moving parts of the barrel are extensively protected against dust and water drops. Thanks to the new magnesium alloy of the barrel and the HRI and fluorite lenses, the proven lens is lighter than ever before. The lens features the Nikon fluorine coating that repels water, dust and dirt. Also, the fluorine coating protects the exterior lens surfaces and reduces the risk of scratching the surface when cleaning the glass. The tripod mount ring is equipped with bearings for smooth switching between portrait and landscape shooting.
