Pentax K-3 Mark III Monochrome
The Pentax K-3 Mark III Monochrome, is a monochrome-specific digital SLR camera in APS-C format that is currently unique on the market.
It captureshigh-resolution, monochrome images that are rich in gradation and grayscale reproduction.
It enables photographers to express their view of the colorful world in simple black-and-white images with all their senses and great imagination.
The camera's design is based on the Pentax K-3 Mark III - the flagship of the Pentax series in APS-C format. It is characterized by the fact that it combines remarkable imaging performance and a
variety of advanced functions in a compact and robust body
Special CMOS image sensor for monochrome images
Conventional image sensors receive light through a matrix of red, green and blue filters. Each pixel only captures one color component. In order to create a black and white image from this, conventional cameras have to perform interpolation. Color data is converted into monochrome data. The new, exclusive monochrome image sensor, on the other hand, only captures the brightness information that each pixel receives and thus creates the finest black and white images with a higher resolution and finer gradations - without interpolation. To optimize the quality of black and white images, the camera has a special monochrome CMOS image sensor, without a low-pass filter (AA), with approx. 25.73 megapixels (effective) in APS-C format
.Image quality developed exclusively for black and white photography
The image quality of the original Pentax K-3 Mark III has been re-evaluated and redesigned from the ground up to make the most of the new image sensor's black and white capabilities.
The result is a more sensitive expression with a natural bokeh effect, rich gradations and greater sharpness - a result that only a monochrome image sensor can offer
A selection of special renderings for black and white
The Pentax K-3 Mark III Monochrome offers three image adjustment modes designed exclusively for black and white photography, allowing you to add a unique finishing touch to your images. In addition to the Standard mode, it offers a High Contrast mode that delivers high contrast images and a Soft mode that allows you to create high-key shots with reduced contrast. Each mode can be refined with different settings such as tonal value, low-key/high-key, contrast and sharpness.
Inthis way, photographers can customize their photos and give them the desired finishing touch
es.Design elements tailored to the idea of monochrome photography
The "monochrome" concept runs through the housing design and has been taken up in various places. The camera menu is in black and white as standard, and the controls and printed symbols are in three shades of gray. This makes the operation and design equally attractive and user-friendly. The SR (Vibration Reduction) logo with a silver finish and the "Monochrome" lettering on the back round off the camera's appearance.
Pentax HD DA 16-50mm f2.8 ED PLM AW
The HD-Pentax DA 16-50mm F2.8ED PLM AW was developed to meet the requirements of the new generation of the "Star series".
Compared to the smc Pentax-DA 16-50mm F2.8ED AL [IF] SDM, the standard Zoom lens of the first generation, this lens offers a significantly improved imaging performance, and for the necessary power in autofocusing, it offers a significantly improved image
quality. For the first time in a lens with this large aperture, a PLM (Pulse Motor) provides the necessary power in autofocus mode, ensuring fast and quiet autofocus operation. It has been specially tuned for better operability when focusing manually, so that the photographer can enjoy the process of photography entirely according to their own preferences
.The new generation of Star series lenses has been designed with future camera bodies in mind, and the increasing demands that this will bring. As part of this, the new
HD-Pentax DA 16-50mm F2.8ED PLM AW, a significant increase in resolving power has been achieved, and various aberrations have been reduced to a minimum in order to obtain a clear image with a natural bokeh effect. At the same time, the high-quality, multi-layer HD coating ensures higher light transmission for high-contrast images with less stray light than before
.By revising the optical design, the weight of the focusing lens group has been reduced, which in turn enables the use of a PLM motor that significantly improves the focusing speed
.The widely appreciated weather resistance is achieved by nine sealing rings and the front lens protection by the SP coating
. With thefast focusing speed, the high image quality and the elaborate construction, not only the buyers of the current model, the PENTAX K-3 Mark III, are addressed, but also owners of older cameras of the Pentax APS-C system.
