IBIS - Absolutely Sharp Shooting
The X2D 100C features 5-axis 7-stop In-Body Image Stabilization (IBIS) to capture razor-sharp handheld shots. To better control the size and weight of the X2D 100C, Hasselblad built the most compact medium format IBIS solution on the market today,[3] meeting the stringent stabilization requirements of a 100 MP medium format sensor while ensuring a lightweight and manageable camera.
The genesis of Hasselblad
unique IBIS system The 100 MP medium format sensor not only provides detail, but also strict requirements for stabilization in the body. To maximize stabilization while minimizing size and weight, Hasselblad had to develop its own special stabilization solution.
Compact stabilization
It was a challenging task to add stabilization while ensuring that the camera remained lightweight and manageable
.
After hundreds of trials and iterations, Hasselblad engineers succeeded in developing an extremely small voice coil motor. Hall sensors were placed inside the motor to further reduce the size of the system. This design made the front of the IBIS system approximately 30%[3] smaller than comparable products and the new IBIS system, now fits within the compact camera body of the X2D 100C.
Precise and efficient stabilization
Control and accuracy were of paramount importance to the development team
.
To achieve a razor-sharp 100 MP resolution, Hasselblad engineers performed a combined error diagnosis of the image sensor and stabilization. After more than six months of effort, the X2D 100C IBIS system achieved pixel-level calibration that meets the highest Hasselblad standards. Camera movements as small as 0.1 pixel can be detected and compensated for, and
inorder to use the X2D 100C in various handheld situations, stabilization uses a high-precision gyroscope and accelerometer, allowing posture changes as small as 0.005 degrees to be detected. Extensive data on subtle hand movements during hand-held shooting was collected from different age groups and analyzed to accurately calibrate the IBIS system for real-world scenarios. To eliminate the influence of temperature variations, Hasselblad engineers optimized a dual Hall sensor design to achieve consistent recording over a wide range of operating temperatures.[4]
The X2D 100C's precise and efficient 5-axis, 7-aperture IBIS system allows handheld 100 MP images to be captured with confidence, taking advantage of the immense detail of medium format for creative processes.
Reliable Large Built-in Memory
High-quality images require a lot of memory
.
A first for medium format cameras,[3] the X2D 100C features a built-in 1 TB SSD with write speeds up to 2,370 MB/s,5 and read speeds up to 2,850 MB/s.[5] Although ample storage is built-in, additional storage can be added via the CFexpress Type B card slot. Thanks to this high-speed memory, the X2D 100C is able to continuously and reliably capture 16-bit RAW images in continuous shooting mode.

Handcrafted Elegance
The X2D 100C's body is made from a solid block of aluminum alloy that has been crafted into a pleasing shape. The X2D 100C is firmly rooted in the Scandinavian design of the X System while setting itself apart with a new dark gray hue. This new color reflects the transition of light and shadow, subtle combinations that the X2D 100C captures so masterfully.
Fast transfer for instant sharing
The X2D 100C also features a 2nd generation USB-C 3.1 port that supports transfer rates of up to 10 Gbps
.
And a fast Wifi connection at 2.4/5 GHz, [8] enables speedy and stable transfer with less interference.
One can connect the X2D 100C to an iPad or iPhone via Wi-Fi to transfer full-size JPG/RAW images using Phocus Mobile 2.9 This enables editing and output of high-quality RAW images that take full advantage of the capabilities of HNCS and allows effortless creation and sharing of masterpieces outside the studio. HASSELBLAD XCD 38mm f2.5
Capturemore ambient detail when shooting in portrait mode, or highlight the subject from the background with the soft bokeh effect of the large f2.5 aperture. When using the XCD 38mm f2.5 lens with a small aperture, the leaf shutter can produce the 8-point starburst effect typical of Hasselblad in bright light sources. The minimum focus distance of the XCD 38mm f2.5 is only 30cm, perfect for shooting food, produce and other still subjects. With its compact optical design, small and lightweight focus module, and optimized leaf shutter, the XCD 38mm f2.5 weighs only 350g, but offers top-of-the-line optical performance.
Precise optics, outstanding images
Capturing the finest nuances of light and shadow starts with the lens. Only with excellent resolution and color reproduction can it provide a solid foundation for imaging. A medium format sensor has a large surface area and high pixel density, which places high demands on the precision of the lens. Starting with the selection of high-quality glass, Hasselblad engineers carefully grind each lens to perfect its optical quality and meet the resolution requirements of 100 million pixels.
The XCD 38mm f2.5 lens has ten elements in nine groups, including three aspherical elements and three ED glass elements. With the optimized arrangement, the lens not only has a compact size, but also improves light transmission and suppresses chromatic dispersion. Combining the XCD 38mm f2.5 with a Hasselblad mirrorless medium format camera delivers impressive results.
New Focus Module: Fast, Light, Precise
The improved focus module uses a linear stepper motor and a lighter, smaller lens group for focusing. These changes eliminate any lag caused by lens group movement and, together with the X2D 100C's PDAF technology, mean that the focus position can be reached quickly and a precise stop can be achieved. The result is fast, flexible and accurate focusing.
Small Central Shutter, Big Help
The central shutter is a powerful component in Hasselblad's medium format system. The XCD 38mm f2.5 lens features an improved leaf shutter that, while smaller, retains the same precision performance as its predecessors and is fast and quiet to prevent interference when shooting. In addition, this extremely small shutter shoots at up to 1/2000 sec and delivers flash sync at all speeds.
A familiar yet new aesthetic
The XCD 38mm f2.5 is a precision-machined metal lens with a focus ring and a newly added control ring. Both rings are finely engraved with a Hasselblad "H" logo. The design is created with a precision 0.3mm mill and is a nod to the memorable look of the HC/HCD lenses. Whether paired with the X System or 907X cameras, this new lens is both a tribute to the past and a unique, elegant statement.
Comfortable and intuitive controls
The lens is designed to feel comfortable and intuitive in the hand to fully support the creative process, not distract from it. The tactile mechanics of the focus ring and control ring are fine-tuned for a smooth and sensual experience. A simple push and pull of the focus ring switches from AF to MF mode, and the intuitive scale markings let you instantly see focus distance and depth of field at a glance. The control ring can be customized for quick access to preferred functions, making shooting more convenient and efficient.
