Nikon Nikkor Z 135mm f1.8 S Plena
Whether you're taking photos or filming, this outstanding full-frame medium telephoto lens produces the ultimate, flawless bokeh. From fine art photography to portraits, high fashion, nature and a variety of other applications, photographers have the opportunity to create sophisticated images of unparalleled depth and expressive quality.
Plena embodies optical excellence in all its facets. The generous Nikon-Z bayonet has opened up new horizons for lens design. Plena takes advantage of these possibilities and delivers absolutely circular bokeh - right to the very edges of the frame. In combination with the optical compression of the 135mm focal length, it achieves an impressive separation of the main subject from its surroundings. Even when the aperture is wide open against complex backgrounds or at close range, the finest details are reproduced in razor-sharp detail against a flowing bokeh
.The Plena lens sets new standards in terms of its overall imaging performance among all S-series lenses. It is also characterized by a remarkable freedom from vignetting, which surpasses all other S-series lenses at an aperture of f/1.8. Thanks to its eleven rounded aperture blades and ingenious optical design, aberrations are efficiently corrected. It is not necessary to close the aperture to prevent vignetting. Even with the aperture wide open, pinpoint light sources such as stars or city lights appear razor-sharp, round and clear. The bokeh in backlit situations is free from unwanted sagittal coma and stray light
. In addition, this exquisitely designed fixed focal length lens from the S series is characterized by its fast and accurate autofocus, which makes operation particularly effortless. Focusing is quick and precise at any distance setting, even with the aperture wide open. Weighing less than a kilogram and with customizable controls, the Plena proves to be extremely handy for both hands-free shooting and in camera rigs,
- achieving a beautifully rounded bokeh across the entire frame while supporting a fast maximum aperture of f1.8. A fantastic expression that emphasizes the three-dimensionality of the subject is achieved by the smooth gradation of the bokeh, which largely extends in front of and behind the focal plane, as well as the minimal color fringing of the bokeh.
- The large amount of peripheral light at maximum aperture f1.8 ensures a uniformly bright image right to the edges of the frame, creating a feeling of transparency and brilliance in the images .
- With the outstanding sharpness and clarity that characterize S-Line lenses, the NIKKOR Z 135mm f/1.8 S Plena brings out the delicate textures of hair and skin, while its first-class dot rendering capability enables thorough reproduction of night landscapes .The
- use of a multi-focusing system* 1 , which utilizes stepping motors (STMs), enables fast, accurate and quiet AF drive and allows precise focusing, even at maximum aperture, for still images and videos .
- In addition to Meso Amorphous Coat, the most effective anti-reflective coating in Nikon's history, which prevents reflections regardless of the direction from which the light enters the lens, Nikon's original ARNEO Coat is also used to effectively reduce ghosting and flare .
- Its premium design with engraved "Plena" logo on the metal lens barrel conveys a sense of sophistication .
- A design that takes into account video recording with quiet operation and stable exposure, as well as functions such as focus breathing suppression* 2 , which effectively reduces the shift of the angle of view when focusing.
- Two lens Fn buttons are adopted, which can be assigned various functions .
- One is located at the top of the lens, allowing smooth adjustment of settings even when shooting in vertical orientation .
- The versatile 82mm filter attachment size allows the use of different lens filters to suit the user's creative intentions .
- Designed for excellent dust and drip resistance* 3 and equipped with an electromagnetic diaphragm mechanism for stable aperture control during high-speed continuous shooting.
1 Multiple AF drive units work together to control the position of multiple focus lens groups with great precision to achieve excellent imaging performance regardless of shooting distance.
*2 Due to the characteristics of the lens, focus breathing may occur depending on the distance between the lens and the subject
*3 Complete dust and drip resistance is not guaranteed in all situations and conditions
