Nikon Z7 II
Thesensor design of the Nikon Z7 II eliminates the optical low-pass filter for greater detail, and the sensor supports a native sensitivity range of up to ISO 64 for rich, detailed images. Updated processing also ensures faster speeds, including a faster continuous shooting rate of 10 frames per second and a larger buffer for working with moving subjects. UHD 4K 60p video is also supported, with the option to record externally in 10-bit with N-Log or HLG (HDR) modes). The sensor also features a 493-point Phase Detection AF system, which now supports Eye Detect AF in Wide Area AF modes and during movie recording, and enables focusing in low light down to -4.5 EV.

Thedesign of the Z7 II has been retained, but it has been equipped with a new interface for two memory card slots that can accommodate a CFexpress Type B card and an SD UHS-II card for more flexible storage. Both the high-resolution OLED EVF with 3.6 million dots and the rear 3.2-inch LCD with 2.1 million dots and tiltable touchscreen enable versatile image composition and playback. SnapBridge wireless connectivity can be used to remotely control the camera, share images to a mobile device and even update firmware over the air.
Firmware version 1.10 unlocks UHD 4K recording at frame rates of 60p and 50p, enables raw video output to external Blackmagic Design Video Assist recorders and improves eye detection performance when using Auto-Area AF and Wide-Area AF modes.

The two EXPEED 6 image processors offer higher buffer performance, a faster continuous shooting rate of 10 frames per second and a noticeably reduced darkening time in the viewfinder.
The updated autofocus now offers eye and face detection for people and animals in wide-angle AF mode, for both still and video shooting
Timed long exposures are now possible for up to 900 seconds (15 minutes) without the need for an external remote control

Two memory card slots offer more flexible file storage options; one CFexpress Type B and one SD UHS-II slot allow for overflow, separate and repeat storage options.
The USB Type-C port enables in-camera charging or continuous power for on-the-go charging or longer shooting times.
The focus ring rotation direction on lenses can be switched according to preference.
HDR mode (HLG) support in external shooting enables instant HDR-ready video files for immediate playback. N-Log is also available to improve control in post-production and grading.
The optional ProRes RAW upgrade allows the camera to output ProRes RAW material to a compatible Atomos external recorder. This upgrade offers greater flexibility in color correction with the ProRes codec as well as the ability to output uncompressed 12-bit raw material via HDMI. This upgrade will be available in early 2021
The SnapBridge wireless connection can be used to update the camera firmware rather than relying on a memory card-based update system.
Updated creative shooting modes include multi-exposure, 20 different Picture Control settings and in-camera time-lapse shooting. There is also a Focus Shift mode for shooting up to 300 consecutive frames, shifting the focus position between shots for focus stacking applications.
Compatible with the optional MB-N11 Power Battery Pack for additional battery life and improved handling.
45.7 MP FX-format BSI CMOS sensor and dual EXPEED 6 processors
A 45.7 MP BSI CMOS sensor delivers high-resolution shooting, impressive low-light quality and fast readout speeds for continuous shooting, filming and time-lapse photography. The sensor's back-illuminated design ensures remarkably clean output with high sensitivity and reduced noise at high ISO values, up to a native ISO of 25600, as well as vivid and consistent quality at sensitivities as low as ISO 64. The design of the sensor also dispenses with the conventional optical low-pass filter to achieve the highest sharpness and resolution of the sensor. The sensor is supported by two EXPEED 6 image processors that provide high speed throughout the camera system, including the ability to shoot up to 50 consecutive frames at 10 frames per second.
UHD4K video recording
By utilizing the sensor and processor capabilities for more than just still images, the Z7 II is also a more than capable multimedia camera. UHD 4K video recording is possible at up to 60p, and Full HD 1080p video recording is also supported at up to 120p for slow motion playback. Video files can be stored on the camera's internal memory cards or as an uncompressed file on an optional external recorder via the HDMI output.
Advanced video features have been added with the Z7 II, including N-Log Gamma for capturing flat-looking footage that maximizes dynamic range and HLG (HDR) for capturing HDR-enabled footage. Other new features include the ability to output high-quality 10-bit data via HDMI and an electronic VR function for smooth handheld shooting. Focus peaking can be used to improve manual focus control and a zebra stripe option helps to detect overexposed areas within the image. Audio can be recorded via the built-in stereo microphone. Optionally, an external microphone can be connected via the 3.5mm stereo jack for better quality control

The sensor has an array of 493 phase detection AF points covering 90% of the image area both vertically and horizontally. This ensures fast and precise focusing for both photos and videos, and thanks to the large detection area, subject tracking works right up to the edges of the image. Hybrid AF is available for video recording, which automatically switches between phase and contrast detection to ensure smooth focusing during recording. In addition, the latest NIKKOR Z lenses are optimized for quiet operation.
Vibration Reduction
The body's own 5-axis Sensor Shift Vibration Reduction compensates for camera shake by up to 5 stops, regardless of the Z lens used. This system also works with adapted F-mount lenses when the optional FTZ adapter is used, which employs 3-axis stabilization.
Body design
The large 3.2-inch LCD screen with 2.1 million pixels offers bright, clear and vivid image reproduction and Live View shooting. The screen tilts to make it easier to work from both high and low angles and is also a touchscreen for more intuitive operation, navigation and control of settings

The robust magnesium alloy body is dust and weather resistant, making it easy to work in harsh climates and conditions.
The ergonomic grip and overall form factor are shaped to handle well over extended periods of time and are further emphasized by a non-slip material and joystick for seamless adjustments and focus point selection.
Integrated SnapBridge connectivity for seamless transfer of low-resolution images and remote shooting. BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) and Wi-Fi enable communication between the camera and a smart device. In addition, the mobile device can remotely press the shutter button and display a live image from the camera to enable remote working.
SnapBridge can also be used as an easier method to update the camera firmware.

The 28-75mm F2.8 G2 has a close focusing distance of 0.18m. The distance to the subject is reduced to only approx. 4.4 cm when the close-up focusing distance is fully utilized. The maximum magnification of 1:2.7 makes it possible to get very close to the subject, as in macro photography, which creates a strong visual effect as the subject is positioned large in the image while the background remains widely visible.
The Tamron Lens Utility™ expands the possibilities of photo and video shooting
The 28-75mm F2.8 G2 is compatible with the Tamron Lens Utility software specially developed by Tamron, which allows the user to easily update the lens to the latest firmware without having to use the camera. By utilizing a variety of functions, users can enhance the expressiveness of their photos and videos. With A-B focus, for example, the user can program the focus to pre-selected points and switch from one subject to another with a click of the focus button.
