Nikon Z9
The Z9 was developed for photographers and videographers who want to go beyond their limits. It is aimed at professional nature, sports and press photographers who require an exceptional electronic viewfinder, autofocus, operability and robustness - which even surpasses the values of the D6. The Z 9 is also suitable for fashion and advertising professionals who need to fully exploit their creativity in high-resolution photos and videos, as well as for videographers who want to achieve high-quality results in efficient and agile production environments.
"The Z 9 is the most advanced camera we have ever developed. It surpasses anything currently on the market," says Dirk Jasper, Product Manager at Nikon Europe. "Only a few cameras are real game changers, this is one of them. Thanks to the Z 9's exceptional processing, speed, AI-driven technologies and ergonomics, photographers can overcome challenges posed by lighting, subject and environment like never before. With the camera's technical capabilities, professionals can redefine their creative goals."
Key features of the Z 9
Outstanding autofocus and 3D tracking
The 493 AF point system includes 405 automatic AF points - five times more than the Z 7II, and 10 AF point modes to optimize AF settings for any task. Deep Learning AI enables the most advanced simultaneous detection of up to nine different subject types. Combined with 3D Tracking, a first in the Nikon mirrorless camera range, every important moment is captured. Whether it's people and their identifying features, animals or vehicles, the Z 9 recognizes subjects and responds instantly to changes in position, orientation and speed.
Groundbreaking video capabilities
The incredible imaging power of the Nikon Z 9 enables photographers to capture exquisite 8K 24p to 60p and 4K 24p to 120p movies as well as time-lapse movies in-camera. 8K footage at 30p can be recorded for approximately 125 minutes at a time - the longest recording time among mirrorless cameras¹. It is also compatible with the ProRes 422 HQ2 recording format, which reliably meets the diverse requirements of video production. An upcoming firmware update will enable the recording of RAW 8K movies in smooth 60p3. Constant AF/AE tracking and eye AF support moviemaking, while the new N-RAW format of Nikon keeps file sizes manageable4.
Powerful speed
Shootmore than 1000 frames5 in high-resolution RAW at 20fps in a burst. You can also shoot at up to 120 frames per second at approx. 11 MP in JPEG normal image quality with full AF/AE capability in the new C+ mode. The world's fastest sensor sampling rate6 virtually eliminates rolling shutter distortion, so the mechanical shutter has been removed. Shutter speeds of up to 1/32000s, combined with the camera's ability to capture images at ISO 64, allow you to work with an open aperture for perfect framing of the subject, even in extremely bright light.
Constant visibility, in real time
TheZ 9 is equipped with the brightest7 (3000 nit) electronic viewfinder display and, thanks to dual-stream technology, offers continuous shooting at all times without black phases, so photographers never miss a moment. The Z 9's display offers a truly continuous real-time display, meaning that movements of the subject or the smallest changes in the scene being photographed are continuously displayed to the photographer.
Ergonomics and stability
Another first at Nikon, the Z 9 is equipped with a vertically and horizontally tilting 4-axis monitor, allowing photographers to adapt to the moment with fast, flexible framing. The ergonomics of the camera, such as the arrangement of the buttons, were developed and improved together with professional photographers. The robustness of the Z 9 goes beyond that of the D6 and ensures that users can rely on their tool even in harsh conditions. With the new AF mode button, AF mode and AF point control can be intuitively switched during shooting. The top and rear LCD displays and buttons light up when the main switch is pressed to make it easier to change settings in the dark.
Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 Di III VXD G2 Nikon Z
The 28-75mm F2.8 G2 is a compact and easy-to-use lens with outstanding optical performance. It is specially designed for modern digital cameras with ever higher pixel resolution. The autofocus works with a VXD linear motor (Voice coil eXtreme torque Drive), which is fast, highly precise and quiet. The lens is also perfect for close-up photography and achieves a close focusing distance (MOD) of 0.18 m and a maximum magnification of 1:2.7 in the wide-angle range. In addition, the lens was designed with ease of use in mind, including a particularly scratch-resistant coating on the lens barrel and a rubberized focusing ring for a comfortable and secure grip. Tamron is regarded as a pioneer in the category of compact, fast standard Zoom lenses for mirrorless system cameras and, with the 28-75mm F2.8 G2 for Nikon Z mount to its portfolio with an ideal everyday lens for users of mirrorless Nikon
Best image quality in the standard Zoom lens class
The 28-75mm F2.8 G2 for Nikon Z uses the latest design know-how and has an optical design with 17 elements in 15 groups. Two optimally arranged LD (Low Dispersion) and GM (Glass Molded Aspherical) lens elements reduce optical aberrations to a minimum. The lens offers high resolution from edge to edge and corner to corner over the entire Zoom range, even with the aperture wide open. In addition, the soft, beautiful and rounded bokeh that can be achieved with a wide aperture lens adds a special dimension to portraits in particular. The overall compact size and high performance can be used to advantage with high-quality mirrorless cameras with very high resolution.
Fast, quiet VXD linear motor for high-precision autofocus
The AF drive system uses the VXD linear motor focusing mechanism from Tamron. The fast and high-precision autofocus is extremely responsive and offers reliable and precise focusing from the closest focusing distance to infinity despite the high speed of F2.8. The lens offers excellent focus tracking for moving objects, so that you are always ready for fast action.
In addition, the focus motor is very quiet, making it ideal for photo and video shoots even in situations that require absolute silence.
Lightweight and compact
The 28-75mm F2.8 G2 is a fast standard zoom lens with a remarkably compact and lightweight design measuring just 119.8 mm in length. The maximum diameter is 75.8 mm and the weight is only 550 g. The filter size is 67 mm. With its handy size and low weight, the 28-75mm F2.8 G2 is ideal for longer hand-held shots and is sure to become your favorite zoom when traveling or for professional shoots in the studio.
MOD of 0.18m in the wide-angle range and a maximum magnification factor of 1:2.7 for creative close-ups
The 28-75mm F2.8 G2 has a close focusing distance of 0.18m. The distance to the subject is reduced to only approx. 4.4 cm when the close focusing distance is fully utilized. The maximum magnification of 1:2.7 makes it possible to get very close to the subject, as in macro photography, which creates a strong visual effect as the subject is positioned large in the image while the background remains widely visible.
The Tamron Lens Utility™ expands the possibilities of photo and video shooting
The 28-75mm F2.8 G2 is compatible with the Tamron Lens Utility software specially developed by Tamron, which allows the user to easily update the lens to the latest firmware without having to use the camera.
