Sony Alpha ILCE 6400 + Samyang 35mm F2.8
Sony Alpha ILCE 6400
With the Sony Alpha 6400, there are no more limits to your creative ideas. The Alpha 6400 impresses with its high performance and advanced features such as AI-based AF with real-time eye detection, high-precision real-time tracking, high-speed continuous shooting, and 4K HDR (HLG) video recording.
The Sony Alpha 6400 impresses with its premium image quality, new autofocus, 4K video, and up to eleven continuous shooting frames per second.
425 phase-detection autofocus points.
The high focus point density covers about 84% of the image area, making subject acquisition easier.
Continuous AF/AE shooting at up to 11 frames per second
Fast internal processing and large buffer memory mean you won't miss a thing. Capture moments with minimal display lag at 11 fps in After View and 8 fps in Live View and continuous shooting at up to 116 JPEG (standard) or 46 compressed RAW.
Quiet continuous shooting at up to 8 frames per second
When shooting requires absolute silence, shooting at up to 8 frames per second without any noise is possible - with AF/AE tracking enabled, even in AF-C mode, real-time eye-detection AF, or real-time tracking. This opens up new creative possibilities.
The newly introduced AI-based subject detection technology processes a wealth of data, enabling it to detect and track even fast-moving subjects.
Precise eye detection
Optimized AF with real-time eye detection reliably detects human faces and focuses precisely on the eyes - all without special settings simply by pressing the shutter button.
Continuous eye tracking
When AF-C is enabled, real-time eye-tracking AF reliably focuses on moving images - even when part of the face is obscured, backlit, or looking down.
Select the left or right eye of your subject
Select Left Eye, Right Eye, or Auto before shooting so you can focus on composition. Assign custom buttons to these options for quick switching during shooting.
Reliable focus with real-time tracking
Keeping subjects at sporting events and other moving images reliably in focus can determine whether you succeed in capturing an important, dramatic moment.
Focusing with new subject detection algorithm
A newly developed scene detection algorithm processes spatial color, distance (depth), pattern (brightness), and face and eye information in real time and at high speed.
Eye tracking and seamless transitions
The tracking system captures the entire body of a person in motion from a greater distance. The focus area seamlessly transitions between the face and eyes depending on subject conditions.
Simple touch tracking
When touch tracking is configured in the menu, you can select the subject simply by touching the monitor. The camera then automatically tracks the subject during both photo and movie shooting.
Thanks to the large sensor and advanced image processor, you can capture any subject ultra-sharp in natural colors, even in difficult lighting conditions.
24.2-megapixel sensor and optimized image processor
The APS-C sensor features copper wires and optimized circuit processing that improve light capture. Combined with the image processor, you get high image resolution and natural rendering of textures.
Sharp images even in low light
Noise reduction enables sharper images even when shooting at high sensitivity in the dark. The ISO base sensitivity has been increased to ISO 32000 (with an extended ISO sensitivity up to ISO 102400 for photo shooting). This allows you to achieve good results in the commonly used mid-to-high sensitivity range.
Natural-looking, realistic images
Image processing algorithms like those used in full-frame cameras now enable more natural-looking color reproduction. Skin tones and plant colors look more natural.
Full pixel readout without pixel binning, high-resolution 4K video recording, HDR (HLG) and S-Log/S-Gamut, as well as slow-motion and time-lapse shooting: The α6400 offers a wide range of features that expand your creative options when filming.
Time-lapse movies
The camera includes a newly introduced interval shooting function, which means continuous shooting with a break between 1 and 60 seconds between photo shots. This can be used to create time-lapse movies on a PC using the Viewer app, which is part of the Imaging EdgeTM desktop applications.
Practical Vlog functions
For vlog recording, the 180-degree swiveling LCD is useful for cropping the image. For audio, in addition to the jack for an external microphone, an optional XLR adapter (sold separately) can also be used, allowing the use of professional microphones for higher audio quality.
The 180-degree tilting 3.0-inch LC display not only shows the subject in front of you, but also makes a number of camera functions accessible at the same time via intuitive touch functions.
Seamless focus area selection via touchpad
The touchpad feature lets you move focus seamlessly while looking through the viewfinder. Simply drag your finger across the monitor to the point you want to focus.
Touch focus and touch shutter
Touch Focus lets you change the focus position simply by touching the monitor, even moving it to the edge of the frame. And with the touch shutter, you can focus and release with just one touch.
Activating real-time tracking via touch tracking
With touch tracking, you simply touch the monitor to activate real-time tracking for photo or video capture. The camera then immediately focuses on the subject permanently.

Small lens with big technology
The SAMYANG 35mm autofocus lens is designed specifically for photographers who demand high image quality and sharpness. It is suitable for mirrorless Sony cameras with full-frame and also APS-C sensor. With its length of 33 mm and a weight of 85.6 g, the autofocus lens is extremely compact, yet it is full of high-quality technology and great features that will make any photographer's heart beat faster. Despite its compact size, the lens comes with sophisticated technology and offers you a snappy and reliable autofocus.
A lens for every occasion
The 35 mm focal length has always been a real all-rounder among fixed focal length lenses, as it almost resembles the angle of view of the human eye - especially when converted to the APS-C format - and thus allows you to shoot "straight from the action". The angle of view of 63° is particularly interesting in street photography - and even with an APS-C sensor, the angle of view comes to just under 42°, the focal length to about 52 mm, just one of the most popular focal lengths of all. The AF 35 mm F2.8 from SAMYANG is also the ideal companion for landscape and architectural photography. Portrait photographers can also rejoice, because at open aperture the autofocus lens gives a particularly beautiful bokeh.
Great technology in a small size
Not only the optical performance of the lens dwarf is impressive. The light weight and small dimensions are made for traveling. Moreover, female photographers will also be pleased, because the lightweight is made for delicate female hands and always finds its place even in small photo bags. High-quality workmanship of optics and mechanics The multi-coated lenses (Ultra Multi Coating) are the absolute highlight of the autofocus lens. They ensure a high-contrast reproduction of the image subject without reflections, minimize chromatic aberrations and enable a high resolution. The lens consists of a total of seven glass elements, which are divided into six groups. Among them are two aspherical lenses and a highly reflective lens that optimizes the flow of light to give you a clear and vivid image. The closest focusing distance is just 35 cm. With an open aperture, you'll get a smooth image all the way to the corners of the frame, even under heavy lighting conditions.
A true all-rounder that no photo bag should be without.
Advantages of a full-frame lens on a camera with APS-C sensor
Save time in post-processing. A large number of lens errors such as distortion, edge blur or vignetting occur on the outer areas of the image. If you use a lens calculated for full format on a camera with APS-C sensor, these areas are not used. Thus, the maximum quality is obtained. Additional post-processing time to correct lens errors is therefore not required.
