Tamron 50-400mm f4.5-6.3 Di III VC VXD Sony E-mount

The 50-400mm F4.5-6.3 Di III VC VXD (model A067) is the first model in a new class of ultra-telephoto zoom lenses for mirrorless camera systems with full-frame sensors. Its 8x Zoom covers an exceptionally versatile focal length range: from the 50mm standard lens with a relatively wide angle of view and normal depth of field, to the 400mm ultra-telephoto, whose narrow field of view allows for greatly enlarged imaging. The 50-400mm F4.5-6.3 is remarkably compact, measuring only 183.4mm in length and weighing only 1,155g, yet it offers unparalleled imaging performance at all focal lengths.

The

optical design of the 50-400mm F4.5-6.3 incorporates several special glass elements that ensure high imaging performance throughout the Zoom range. The lens features Tamron's proprietary VXD (Voice-coile Xtreme-torque Drive) autofocus technology, which is based on an exceptionally quiet and fast-acting linear motor. The VC (Vibration Compensation) image stabilizer, also developed by Tamron, helps to achieve sharp images in low-light situations. The short close-up distance of the 50-400mm F4.5-6.3 allows macro photography at a scale of 1:2 (0.5x magnification). At focal length 50mm, the shortest focusing distance is only 25cm.

The ultra-telephoto zoom lens inspires with high ease of use and a revised body design. The barrel has a scratch-resistant surface and fits comfortably in the hand even during longer shooting sessions. The adjustment elements are optimally placed and can be operated intuitively. Like the other lenses in the Tamron E-series, the 50-400mm F4.5-6.3 features the uniform filter size (Ø67mm), so that filters and protective caps fit all lenses in the series.

The

50-400mm F4.5-6.3 is compatible with the TAMRON Lens Utility, which can be used to customize the operation of the lens. Also available here for the first time is the FocusLimiter function, which can be used to limit the focus range for even faster focusing.

For use in conjunction with a tripod, a tripod clamp (Arca-Swiss compatible) is available as an optional accessory.

The lens is equipped with Tamron's proven VXD autofocus with linear motor (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive). VXD technology is characterized by particularly quiet and agile focusing that achieves very high precision even in dynamic situations. The shortest possible focusing distance of only 17 cm and the maximum magnification of 1:3.8 in the wide-angle range make the lens also recommendable for expressive close-ups

The 20-40mm F2.8 is a fast standard zoom born from the desire to create a compact, easy-to-carry lens. It offers a constant F2.8 open aperture throughout the Zoom range of 20mm to 40mm, and is particularly compact and lightweight, measuring just 86.5mm in length and weighing 365g. The 40mm standard focal length is primarily suited for snapshots, portraits, and food photos, and the 20mm wide-angle Utra focal length for stunning landscape shots with striking depth - something that's hard to achieve with a conventional fast standard zoom lens with an initial focal length of 24mm.
