It is 27% lighter and 27% shorter than comparable lenses, making it the lightest, most compact lens in its class. The filter thread has a diameter of 62 mm. The new, well thought-out design promises a pleasant feel and facilitates operation in the field.

The autofocus in this lens is driven by a linear stepper motor (LSTM), which works quickly and quietly while delivering precise results. This means that you are equipped for snapshots that require an exact point of focus, especially at open aperture. Video recordings with continuous focus tracking are therefore a breeze and without the annoying noise of the focus drive.

The close focusing distance of this lens is just 19 cm, which allows you to take photos in tight situations and focus on close objects. The lens comprises 12 elements arranged in 10 groups, each lens is multi-coated with the Samyang proprietary Ultra Multi Coating (UMC). Special lenses include 1 hybrid aspherical lens (H-ASP), 1 aspherical lens (ASP) and 3 extra low dispersion (ED) glass lenses in the optical path. Thanks to the highest glass quality, the images are always sharp from the center to the edge. The aperture has 7 blades, which enables 14-ray sun stars with brilliant highlights.
