The linear

XD motors in the SEL400F28GM have been redesigned to provide greater thrust and efficiency than conventional motors to take full advantage of the rapidly evolving speed of current and future camera bodies. The linear motor design and component layout have been precisely redesigned to achieve significantly higher thrust. Two of these new motors are built into the SEL400F28GM, providing a 5x increase in tracking moving subjects.
