A solid, weatherproof housing to protect against dust and water

The PENTAX WG-1000 offers many advantages that smartphones and many cameras do not have. It can also be used in conditions where it gets really rough and wet. It delivers reliable images, even when you have to concentrate fully on your sport, such as canoeing or climbing, and still capture those exciting moments in the picture. Thanks to its robust construction, the WG-1000 can be used for a wide range of activities, even in harsh, demanding conditions, and even for underwater shooting. It has a reliable all-weather housing that is waterproof to a depth of 15 meters and can be operated continuously for up to one hour; it is dustproof against dirt and stains and shockproof* even against drops from a height of up to two meters.

A special feature opens up further usage options. The WG-1000 can be sterilized with special solvents containing ethanol, sodium hypochlorite (approved as a disinfectant for food) or chlorine dioxide. This means that it can also be used in medical facilities or on construction sites

Sharp, clear images

Thanks to its back-illuminated CMOS image sensor with approx. 16.35
effective megapixels, which is characterized by high sensitivity, low
noise and a high read-out speed of the image data, the WG0-1000 delivers sharp, clear and high-resolution
images - up to a high sensitivity of ISO 3200. If the high ISO is no longer sufficient, the anti-shake mode helps to effectively compensate for camera shake in photos.

4x optical Zoom lens

With a focal length range of 4.9 mm to 19.6 mm (equivalent to approx. 27 mm to 108 mm in 35 mm format), the WG-1000 has a 4x Zoom lens that covers a wide range of applications. This is a real optical Zoom, which images the entire range without loss.

A choice of seven shooting modes

The WG-1000 offers a choice of seven different shooting modes to automatically select the best possible setting for many situations. In addition to a special underwater mode that faithfully reproduces the colors of the underwater world by reducing the blue cast, the camera offers a scene mode that allows the user to choose from 18 different options. And for special requirements, the WG-1000 even offers a manual mode that allows the user to manually select the desired aperture, shutter speed and ISO sensitivity.

Extensive creative functions thanks to a wide range of color filters

PENTAX digital SLR cameras have long offered the option of using various color filters to add the finishing touches to the captured images in order to customize the visual expression. For the WG-1000 there are now also 20 color modes available to create images according to your own ideas. In addition to the conventional black and white and sepia modes, further creative options are available, such as the "Japan style" - which enhances bluish
color tones; the "Italian style" - which enhances greenishtones or the "French style" - which enhances reddish tones. In addition to these very creative options, there are also presets such as "Negative", which creates an image impression similar to photos from negative film, or the "Sketch" mode, which adds a visual effect similar to that of a drawing. With this function, the user can easily add the desired finishing touches either before or after shooting.

Full HD movie recording

The WG-1000 offers Full HD movie recording using the H-264
recording format (MOV) to capture high-quality, extended movie clips (1920
x 1080 pixels, 16:9 proportions) at a frame rate of 30 frames per
second

A protective cover O-CC180 is included in the scope of delivery. It protects the camera housing from scratches and ensures that the camera always looks fresh and young, even after tough adventures
