The filter holder is the central element in the Cokin plug-in filter system. The adapter ring is screwed into the screw thread of the lens in order to be able to attach the Cokin filter holder onto it. The filter disk can simply be pushed into the filter holder from above.

The advantage of this is that instead of having to purchase a separate, expensive screw-on filter for all the lenses in the photo backpack, a much less expensive adapter ring in the appropriate size is sufficient. The various filters can thus be moved variably, depending on composition and need, giving the photographer and filmmaker a great deal of creative freedom.

The COKIN Z-Pro series is aimed at users of full-frame cameras, large wide-angle lenses and/or generally fast lenses with a larger diameter.
