B+W Polarizing Filter High Transmission MASTER 77mm

B+W polarizing filters are circular polarizing filters that take into account the differently constructed metering systems of cameras. This is the case with almost all modern cameras when beam splitters are involved in the TTL exposure meter or autofocus beam path. This prevents incorrect exposures. The extension factor is up to 3 f-stops. In the case of the B+W Käsemann High Transmission polarizing filter, this is approx. 2-3, which corresponds to +1 to +1.5 f-stops.

Since they can be rotated in the mount; the erasing effect can be regulated recognizably in the viewfinder or on the display. Another effect of the B+W polarizing filters is the reduction of reflections on non-metallic surfaces such as water, shop windows, paint. Objects behind them, even lettering behind reflective paint, become recognizable again - a fascinating image enhancement without image processing!

All filters of the new MASTER filter line are equipped with the exclusive premium coating system MRC nano. This high-quality broadband coating is applied on both sides and enhances the optical imaging properties. You achieve uniform and increased transmittance across the entire light spectrum, with minimal physically induced residual reflection. The nano all-round protection on the filter glass ensures increased scratch resistance as well as extremely easy and fast cleaning. All these features ensure a long filter life.

The MASTER filter line has been given a facelift. A new knurl design provides a better grip. The polarizing filters from the new MASTER filter line are also exclusively equipped with a grease-free rotating device for easier rotation.

All B+W filters are manufactured in Germany to the highest standards with minimal tolerances. The basic material of the filter mounts is brass; a guarantee for high stability and durability. The special functional coating with its optimized gliding properties makes it easier to screw the filter in and out. In addition, a precise glass support guarantees a flat and tension-free fit of the filter glass. The filters are suitable for all focal lengths, including (super)wide-angle to telephoto lenses.

TIP

Maximum effect is achieved in landscape photography with a shooting angle of 90° to the sun. For a uniform effect in the picture, one should not go below the focal length of 35 or 28 mm in 35 mm format because of the uneven polarization of the sky light. In general, reflections can be completely suppressed in the ideal case with the help of a correctly oriented polarizing filter. The ideal case here means that the illumination and recording angles are approximately the same and correspond to the angle of maximum polarization, usually 30° to 40°.
