Heliopan Pol cir HT PMC slim filter
Natural light propagates in a straight line in waves in all directions. Pure sunlight is polarized and has high color purity. As it passes through the atmosphere, a portion of it is scattered, which overlays all colors as a blue-gray haze. This portion can often be attenuated or prevented with polarizing filters. If, in addition, light falls at a flat angle of about 35 degrees on a reflecting surface, such as water, glass, plastics, paints (with the exception of metallic surfaces), the light is reflected and polarized. If a correctly oriented polarizing filter is now used, the reflections are absorbed and the pure colors can reach the film or recording chip. Water surfaces become transparent, the blue cast caused by sky polarization is dampened, and colors become far more vivid and saturated. Heliopan polarizing filters are supplied in a rotatable mount with a number ring, so that the desired position and effect can be easily set for any type of camera.
