There are many photo motifs where different GND filters (gray graduated filters) can be

used.

With the F:X Pro GND Set + Astroklar Limited Edition, Rollei offers a set that covers especially those motifs that have an unclear horizon and thus require the use of Soft GNDs and Medium GNDs. This is because with the F:X Pro Soft GND8, Soft GND16, Medium GND8 and Medium GND16 included in the set, you can easily choose exactly the rectangular filter your subject needs. Soft GNDS are ideally suited for these subjects

• Rugged mountain landscapes
• Wooded areas
• Subjects without a clearly defined horizon

Soft GNDs (unlike normal ND filters) are used for

subjects where the brightness of the image is too low.

Soft GNDs are used (in contrast to normal ND filters) for subjects where the brightness conditions have a soft gradient and therefore require a soft transition for an evenly exposed image. The ideal location for a Soft GND is, for example, a mountain landscape where the lighting conditions cause the foreground of the image to appear darker than the background - but where the horizon line is not particularly well defined. Such a scenario can be fantastically balanced by Soft GND.

For these motifs, Medium GNDS are excellently suited

• Mixed urban motifs (houses with water, bridges and sky)
• Mountain ranges with forest, sky and sun
• Motifs where the horizon line is rather uneven

A

classic application of a Medium GND is, for example, a shot of a city center, which has many different elements and brightnesses and therefore has to be classified exactly between Hard and Soft GND

. The

Medium GND compensates for such a scenario.

Thanks to a special coating, the Astroklar rectangular filter largely reduces the unwanted yellow and orange components of the light and ensures that even difficult structures and transitions are still displayed reasonably and do not "break out"

Night skies and starry skies or sparsely lit building panoramas clearly gain in contrast and definition. Even extremely distant and barely visible stars can appear clearly and distinctly on the astrophoto. Due to the special anti-light smog coating, the images become slightly cooler, the blue and green parts predominate.
