The UV filter of the "F:X Pro" series is an extremely practical screw-on lens attachment, which primarily ensures that the ultraviolet component in sunlight is specifically blocked and does not lead to unwanted color distortions.

UV light is invisible to the human eye and can easily have a detrimental effect on image sharpness - it can be very problematic, especially with high detail magnification.

In addition, a UV filter also has mechanical advantages - due to its otherwise very image-neutral properties, it can remain permanently on the lens (even when shooting without daylight) and in this way protects the expensive optics from damage.

Precisely because most camera sensors today already block UV light ex works, the inexpensive additional protection of expensive lenses is a particularly efficient area of application for today's UV filters. And thanks to glass and dirt-repellent multi-coating, the UV filters from Rollei have been optimized for precisely this purpose.
