With the SB-500 flash unit, Nikon introduces its first flash unit with an integrated LED light. The handy SB-500 is a great light dispenser for both photographers and videographers, providing a particularly convenient way to control the quality and direction of light. As the first flash unit from Nikon, this unit features a high-intensity LED light on the front. This makes the flash unit the right choice when flexibility is a priority when shooting movies, without having to carry additional lighting equipment. Here are the main highlights in brief:

• Compact i-TTL flash unit: compatible with FX and DX format digital SLR cameras, as well as COOLPIX cameras with accessory shoe and the Nikon Creative Lighting System.
• Integrated LED light: the LED light located at the front of the flash unit with high light intensity (100 lx) and daylight-like color temperature (5400°K) provides the best conditions for video recording and can also be used for photography at shorter distances. The LED light is equipped with a diffuser for softer light and covers the angle of view of a 24 mm lens (corresponding to FX format).
• Easy to use: intuitive controls on the back of the unit. Special flash modes and other functions are adjustable via the menu of compatible cameras.
• Guide number: 24 (m, ISO 100), covering the angle of view of 24 mm focal length (corresponding to FX format).
• Versatile/with light control: The flash reflector can be tilted upwards by up to 90° and rotated sideways by 180°.
