In addition to optimized lens coatings, a 3-layer combination lens helps reduce ghosting by minimizing the number of critical glass/air surfaces.

Ready for use even in extreme situations

The outer surface of the barrel is coated with the same white heat-repellent coating as the RF 100-500mm F4.5-7.1L IS USM and RF 70-200mm lenses. This prevents performance degradation at high temperatures.
