RF-S 7.8mm f4 STM Dual Stereoscopic 3D
A whole new dimension
This stereoscopic dual lens is an excellent entry into the world of spatial videos and 3D photos. It was developed for APS-C cameras and offers an image field of 63°, which is modeled on that of the human eye - for natural, realistic images. The STM autofocus ensures faster set-up, while the high speed of 1:4 allows you to shoot indoors and outdoors. The 3D effect is ideal for close-ups and adds an extra dimension to your memories, making them practically pop off the screen.
More compact. Easier. Lighter.
This interchangeable lens allows APS-C camera users to capture stunning 3D videos and photos - and then view them directly on a VR headset or smartphone with stereoscopic glasses. Weighing in at just 130g, you'll barely feel it on the camera.
Like a dream
The user-friendly STM autofocus ensures a sharp subject and easy framing of shots, while the high speed of 1:4 enables use in a wide range of lighting conditions. You can take pictures both indoors and outdoors. The best results are achieved at a subject distance of between 0.15 m and 0.5 m. This is ideal for close-up storytelling.
Deep emotions
The 7.8 mm focal length provides a field of view of 63°, which corresponds to that of the human eye - for realistic, natural-looking 3D images with emotional depth. The construction with 2 UD lenses ensures high-quality optics
. At the forefront with spatial images
Initially, use with the EOS R7 is supported for 4K video. In the future, compatibility will be extended to other APS-C cameras, allowing more content creators than ever before to explore the excitement of 3D space.
Viewing content
After photos and videos are produced and edited with the EOS VR SYSTEM of cameras, lenses and EOS VR Utility software, they can be easily viewed.
Although this lens was developed in close collaboration with Apple, the content captured with it can be viewed with any headset capable of displaying VR content. This includes the Apple Vision Pro, Google Cardboard, Meta Quest and even a conventional stereoscopic viewer.
