Fujifilm GF 500mm f.5.6 LM OIS WR
lightweight super telephoto lens with image stabilizer for the GFX series
The GF500mmF5.6 R LM OIS WR is exceptionally light and handy for a super telephoto lens with a focal length of 500mm (equivalent to 396mm KB)
. It weighsonly around 1,375 grams*3 and is therefore ideal for mobile use
.The optical construction comprises a total of seven Super ED and ED lenses, which ensure high imaging performance, among other things by effectively minimizing chromatic aberrations that typically occur with super telephoto lenses. The compact design is also primarily due to the use of these special lenses. Fast and precise autofocus and optical image stabilization with up to six EV stops*4 round off the features of the new super-telephoto lens.
The GF500mmF5.6 R LM OIS WR opens up new possibilities in the fields of sports, wildlife and bird photography that were previously reserved for 35mm cameras. Details imperceptible to the naked eye are reproduced with absolute precision, even when shooting hand-held. Whether the beads of sweat on an athlete's forehead or the feather of a wild bird - every detail is captured with impressive accuracy
Longest telephoto focal length in the GF series
With a focal length of 500 mm (equivalent to 396 mm 35 mm), the GF500mmF5.6 R LM OIS WR is the GF lens with the longest reach
. It isideal for sports, wildlife and bird photography.
In combination with the FUJINON GF1.4X TC WR teleconverter, the focal length is extended to 700 mm (equivalent to 554 mm KB).
Robust and lightweight
Thanks to revised components and a new product design, the new lens weighs only around 1,375 grams. This makes it unusually light for a super telephoto lens developed for use on large-format camera systems.
The optical system comprises 21 elements in 14 groups. In contrast to many conventional telephoto lenses, the GF500mmF5.6 R LM OIS WR is optimally balanced and can be held comfortably.
The optimized arrangement of the two Super ED and five ED lenses has contributed significantly to the compact and lightweight design. They are used to correct optical colour errors (chromatic aberrations) and ensure a high resolution.
Splash and dust-proof
The lens is sealed against the ingress of moisture and dust at 18 points and is fully operational down to minus 10 degrees Celsius. The front lens has a fluorine coating with dirt and water-repellent properties. The
integrated image stabilizer
The optical image stabilizer of the GF500mmF5.6 R LM OIS WR allows up to six EV stops*4 longer exposure times. The improved mechanism and advanced acceleration and gyro sensors ensure highly precise compensation of unwanted movements. The long super-telephoto focal length on the GFX cameras also enables you to take sharp, hand-held shots.
Fast and precise autofocus
The internal focusing of the lens enables consistently high imaging performance over the entire focus range. The focus group, which contains a smaller and lighter focus lens, is moved quickly and almost silently by a powerful linear motor. Focus is achieved in around 0.31 seconds5.Even in demanding situations, the subject is precisely focused so that it can be captured in razor-sharp focus at the decisive moment.
If required, a specific focus settingcan be saved and recalledusing the focus preset button6. When the button is pressed, the lens immediately focuses on the preset distance. This function is particularly useful in situations where a subject needs to be focused on the same spot repeatedly.
The "Focus area selection button "7 can be used to limit the distance range used by the autofocus so that focusing can be performed even faster. The function can be used effectively if you are only photographing subjects at a distance of five or more meters.
The focus control button6 is located on the front of the lensand can be used to call up a predefined AF function during photography or filming without having to interrupt the recording
