Fujifilm XF 10-24mm f4 R OIS WR
Like its predecessor, the Fujifilm XF10-24mmF4 R OIS WR offers a focal length range of 10 to 24mm (equivalent to 15 to 36mm KB). The optical construction and consistent F4 speed are identical, as is the high resolution performance. However, the new model also offers a number of additional features such as an aperture scale, aperture ring lock in the A (Auto) position, and a weather-resistant lens barrel. It is thus suitable for outdoor use in any weather and ideal for demanding landscape and nature photography.
The design has been optimized in terms of weight and size. The new XF10-24mmF4 R OIS WR is 25 grams lighter, and the focus ring and Zoomring are narrower than before. In addition, the OIS image stabilization is more powerful and allows up to 3.5 EV stops longer exposure times.
Weather-sealed lens barrel and advanced features.
The aperture ring features a scale that indicates the selected aperture value. Consequently, it is no longer necessary to read the current settings in the viewfinder or on the camera's rear LC display. Another new feature is the automatic lock function in the A (Auto) position, which prevents accidental adjustment of the aperture value and was previously reserved for the medium format lenses of the GFX system.
Inside the lens barrel, there is also a new gyro sensor that provides improved image stabilization up to 3.5 EV stops - an increase of 1.0 EV stop compared to the previous model. In conjunction with the latest generation of X series cameras (e.g. FUJIFILM X-T4), which feature in-camera five-axis image stabilization, up to approx. 6.5 EV stops longer exposure times are possible.
The XF10-24mmF4 R OIS WR is splash and dust resistant, as well as ready for use in cold temperatures down to minus 10° Celsius. Despite the expanded features, it is 25 grams lighter than the previous model. It is also even more compact, as the focus and Zoomring have been made narrower by three and two millimeters respectively.
High image quality and short close-up distance
The optical construction of the lens includes fourteen elements in ten groups. Among them are four aspherical lenses that provide correction for spherical aberration, distortion and field curvature, and four elements made of ED glass to correct chromatic aberration. The result is images with impressive sharpness right into the corners of the image. Despite its compact size, the lens offers a speed of F4 over the entire focal length range of 10 to 24 mm (equivalent to 15 to 36 mm KB).
An elaborate coating on the concave front lens prevents the ghosting often found in ultra-wide-angle lenses and ensures images of high brilliance and sharpness.
The shortest focusing distance is 24 cm, making the lens suitable for close-up photography. Due to the wide angle of view, a large section of the surroundings is included in the image composition, which enables images with a pronounced depth effect.
Fast and quiet autofocus
The lens features an internal focusing system that provides reliable autofocus in any situation. Lightweight focus elements and a high-precision AF motor ensure fast and quiet focusing. Combined with the X series' Face and Eye Detection, pinpoint focus is always guaranteed, even when shooting people.
