Excellent out-of-focus bokeh is achieved through the design of the molded aperture blades. The blades are curved to provide a round image at all aperture settings. The edges are rounded instead of simply cut off, so you get a sharper image.
The lens was designed to maximize the mirrorless design of the X-PRO1 bodies, the X-base has a short distance of only 17.7mm, allowing for high resolution across the frame.
