Fujifilm XF-8-16mm f2.8 R LM WR

The new XF wide-angle zoom delivers excellent and sharp images throughout the Zoom range, high resolution from the center of the frame to the edges. The XF8-16mm is ideally suited for landscape and architectural photography, restaurant and hotel interiors, night photography, and astrophotography, covering a focal length range of 12-24mm (equivalent to KB).

The Fujinon XF8-16mmF2.8 R LM WR is able to take full advantage of the Fujifilm X-Trans CMOS sensor, achieving excellent sharpness even when the aperture is wide open.

The lens is lightweight, yet very rugged. It is resistant to dust, moisture, and low temperatures down to minus 10 degrees Celsius. This makes it extremely reliable even in adverse external conditions.

Ultra-wide-angle zoom with constant F2.8 aperture

To provide an ultra-wide-angle zoom of 8-16 mm (12-24 mm equivalent to KB) at a constant F2.8 aperture, 20 elements in 13 groups are used in this lens. This includes 4 aspherical lenses to control distortion and spherical aberration, as well as three ED lenses and three Super ED lenses to reduce chromatic aberration. This design allows the lens to achieve excellent image resolution throughout the Zoom range at a constant F2.8 aperture.

Distortion Correction

To correct image field curvature typically found in ultra-wide-angle lenses, the XF8-16mm features a correction element so that high sharpness is achieved throughout the image.

Double Nano-GI Coating

A Nano-GI coating is applied to the back of the two front lens elements to prevent ghosting and light reflections caused by oblique incident light.

Fast and quiet autofocus

The Fujinon XF8-16mm uses linear motors to provide fast autofocus. The motors also operate very quietly.

Weather sealed

The XF8-16mm is sealed against splashing water and dust in 11 places. It is also cold-resistant down to a temperature of minus ten degrees. This means that it can be used in bad weather or difficult climatic conditions without any problems.

The fluorine coating on the front lens element is water-repellent, less prone to smudging, and easy to clean.

Ultra-wide angle lenses have a highly curved front lens and therefore cannot be fitted with a conventional lens cap. The FLCP-8-16 lens cap is designed specifically for this lens and is included with the lens as an accessory.
