High image quality and attractive bokeh
Like all XF lenses, the XF80mmF2.8 features superior image quality. The optical design features 16 elements in twelve groups, including an aspherical lens as well as one Super ED and three ED lenses. Chromatic and spherical aberrations are successfully reduced and high resolution performance is achieved over the entire image area.
New AF system with floating focus technology
The macro lens is equipped with a new autofocus system. Focusing is achieved using the so-called floating focus system, which is based on two highly precisely controlled focus groups in the front and rear areas of the lens. This effectively minimizes aberrations caused by different focus settings, especially those that occur at very short shooting distances. The focus groups move along a rail with ceramic ball bearings, which guarantees very fast response and precise stopping down.
Fast and quiet focusing
A linear motor ensures particularly fast and silent focusing. The overall length of the lens remains unchanged during focusing. Photographers therefore do not have to worry about the front lens unintentionally touching the subject being photographed when focusing.
Effective image stabilization
The new optical image stabilizer (OIS) is specially designed for macro shots, which are particularly prone to blur due to the large image scale. An accelerometer and a gyro sensor are used to compensate for unwanted horizontal, vertical and rotational movements, making sharp freehand shots much easier. Stabilization enables up to five stops* longer exposure times.
Splash-proof and dust-proof
Because the barrel is weather-sealed, the XF80mmF2.8 can be used in wet and dirty environments without worry. A total of eleven seals protect the interior against moisture and dust. The front lens features a water- and dirt-repellent fluorine coating that is especially easy to clean.
Compatible with 1.4x and 2.0x teleconverters
The XF80mmF2.8 macro lens is compatible with FUJIFILM's teleconverters. The focal length is extended by a factor of 1.4 to 112mmF4 (171mm KB equivalent) with the XF1.4X TC WR or by a factor of 2.0 to 160mmF5.6 (244mm KB equivalent) with the XF2X TC WR.
