The Fujifilm XF 8mm F3.5 R WR features a focal length of 8mm (equivalent to 12mm KB) and a wide angle of view of 121 degrees diagonally. It captures about twice as much information as the central field of view of the human eye and delivers excellent image quality right to the edges of the frame. This makes it ideal for landscape and architectural photography as well as everyday snapshots.

With a compact length of just 52.8mm, a light weight of only 215g, and a versatile filter thread diameter of 62mm, the XF 8mm F3.5 R WR is also perfect for extended photo tours and travel.

Extended Field of View

The XF 8mm F3.5 R WR offers an 8mm fixed focal length (equivalent to 12mm KB). With an angle of view of 121 degrees diagonally and 112 degrees horizontally, it has a field of view that is significantly wider than the central field of view of humans, making it an ideal choice for landscape panoramas and shooting detailed scenery.

The

optical construction includes twelve elements in nine groups. Three aspherical elements and two ED lenses guarantee high resolving power and suppress aberrations such as field curvature, chromatic aberration and spherical aberration. All details within the frame are reproduced sharply and with high contrast.

Fast autofocus

Wide-angle lenses generally have a short focus distance, which in the case of the XF 8mm F3.5 R WR, when combined with internal focusing, enables rapid focusing in just 0.02 seconds*1. This capability is particularly advantageous with dynamic subjects, which can be spectacularly showcased with the ultra-wide-angle lens, and

wide depth of field is achieved with wide-angle focal lengths by

Compact and lightweight design

Aspherical elements and ED glass are positioned in the optical system to not only provide optimal correction of aberrations such as distortion, but also to allow for a compact and lightweight design. The Fujifilm XF 8mm F3.5 R WR is only 52.8mm long and weighs just 215g. Compared to other ultra-wide-angle lenses, this makes it surprisingly handy and ideal for longer photo trips or travel. The

lens has a filter thread with a diameter of 62 mm, which allows for the straightforward use of a variety of filters. This is practical in landscape photography, for example, where ultra-wide-angle lenses with filters are often used.

Splash-proof and dust-proof

The XF 8mm F3.5 R WR is best suited for outdoor use in light rain or dusty environments, as well as for snapshot and travel photography. The weather-resistant lens barrel is sealed against moisture and dirt at ten points, which at the same time ensures that the lens can be used in low temperatures down to minus 10 degrees Celsius.
