Nikon AF-S 12-24mm f/4 DX G IF-ED

DX-Nikkors are perfectly matched to the uniform shooting format of the CCD sensors (23.7 x 15.6 mm) used in all D-series Nikon SLR cameras.
In terms of 35mm, the AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 12-24mm/4.0 G IF-ED has an effective focal length range of 18-36mm. With this lens, Nikon significantly expands the wide-angle range of its digital SLR cameras. When shooting telephoto, for example in sports and nature photography, the cameras' focal length extension of a factor of 1.5 continues to be a welcome side effect.
The lens has been equipped with the Nikon Silent Wave motor. This ensures extremely fast and virtually silent automatic focusing. The recalculated optical system uses ED glass to enhance color brilliance. In addition, aspherical lens elements ensure particularly high edge sharpness and very low distortion.
The new DX lens is aimed at all photographers who want to work digitally with a lens up to the extreme wide-angle range and who expect high quality.
DX-Nikkor lenses are developed specifically for digital Nikon SLR cameras. They are not suitable for use with analog 35 mm SLR cameras.
