The NIKKOR Z 400mm f2.8 TC VR S is the first Z lens to feature Nikon's new autofocus system with a fast-rotating voice coil motor (VCM) and ABS optical encoder: the autofocus is extremely fast and quiet, enabling pinpoint subject detection and tracking. It is also the first Z lens with Nikon's new meso-amorphous coating, with the highest anti-reflective performance in NIKKOR history. This new coating uses particles smaller than nanoparticles to ensure remarkable control over ghosting and flare: clarity is perfect, even in scenes with multiple direct light sources in the frame.

The NIKKOR Z 400 mm 1:2.8 TC VR S has further design advantages: It impresses with its low weight, which makes this super-telephoto lens easier to handle. The robust and perfectly balanced lens is completely sealed around all moving parts and has a center of gravity shifted to the rear for more stable operation. The controls can be customized for the perfect setting in any situation, including by assigning functions to the lens' Fn ring.

Integrated 1.4x teleconverter
Increase the range to 560mm - if required. A simple flip of the switch on the right side of the lens is all it takes to activate the teleconverter. Without changing position or taking your eyes off the viewfinder.
