The lens system includes nine elements in seven groups. Thanks to its design with two aspherical lenses and one UHR (Ultra High Refractive) lens, the lens offers high cropping from the center to the corners of the image despite its large aperture. By utilizing the Panasonic Nano Surface Coating, reflections and ghosting are minimized.

The lens features an internal focus drive as well as a stepper motor, ensuring smooth, quiet operation. With fast and highly accurate autofocus, it is recommended for both photo and video shooting.
